Title: Need a render.
Post by: Turnsky on May 24, 2005, 05:37:16 am
simply put, i need an orbital shot, with a shuttle being light up by a large energy beam being shot in its local vicinity.. not close enough to get damaged, but enought to enjoy the light show..

at night, fairly cloudy.. and the beam originating around here.. red X is in north carolina.

Can I ask what for?

By shuttle you mean NASA shuttle?

I'm not really an expert with rendering, but I am curious as to why you need it. :p

Turnsky, why do you need me to shoot a laser at the Space Shuttle?  :p

I unfortunately have no shuttle model worth rendering though.

I think it's for the FoxFire Chronicles. A big (see very big) cannon is gonna fire and I guess he needs a render for it.

But sry... I can't render.

You want to know the biggest problem people might have? Very few of us have computers that can handle 16k or over textures needed for a low-orbit shot.

well, maximum width is only 700 pixels.. hieght is up to you... but at that size you'd lose a LOT of detail.

Planet taken from an Orbiter screenshot. Weapon added in photoshop.

No shuttle in this pic though:

NC was more a choice between having somewhere that suited the terrian type, and wasn't cliche.
