Alright, so although my computer is still working despite this - it's about time I tried to sort it. I just don't have a clue how.
I have a Hewlett Packard. I've altered the original hardware configuration with two changed hard drives, a new graphics card etc. However as a result, every time I start the PC I get prompted with a BIOS message telling me that my hardware has changed and that to continue I should just press F1. This screen shows up twice before WinXP continues to load normally. Nothing else happens.
It's just a pain in the ass to have to go through that process every time I come to the PC. Is there something I'm doing wrong when I select F1 to change the BIOS configuration? Is there some other setting or screen I should alter?

Update your BIOS, maybe? Other than that, you can roll the dice with HP tech support, if you didn't void your warranty by cracking the case.

i'd say the warrenty's well and truely voided... trust me, i know..
i have to wait until a damn compaq tech comes down to the comp store so we don't void warrenty on the damn computer... just to replace a bloody combo drive.
bios flashing might solve the problem, yes

Before flashing, first I'd trying clearing the CMOS or resetting the bios. Might just be a bad config.
If that's impossible or doesn't affect it, try this. Go into the BIOS setup, change a value of something unimportant. Save changes. Turn off the computer for 5 minutes then turn it back on. Check the setting in the bios to see if it's still changed - if not, you might have a dead CMOS battery.
