You know electronics?!?
Welcome to the club (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif) what kind of stuff are you interested in?

i putz around in electronics.. give me a schematic and I'll prolly be able to build it.. i even improved on this design... the origional design had all the 220V circuits through one box - i changed it so i run 5 volt low current lines all the hell over washington... well.. the MINIMUM resistance on each 5v control line is 470ohms - there is a 470 ohm resistor on them... behind that resistor is an LED, beyond the LED will be the optoisolating TRAIC switch in the switching unit - on the far end of the hell-long signal line [if it's not plugged into the jack then it's bypassed]

I got a National diploma in electronic eng. and computer electronics, interesting stuff.
I mostly build nifty gadgets, lazertag equiptment, dangerously fast RC cars, instrument amplifiers and other misc. bits and pieces. Oh and stun guns and small armnaments (golf bag with a butane powered potato launcer in it). Don't ask me for plans, it's so unsafe it's stupid (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

I think I get it, the sound waves from Winamp are changed into electric signals that make the little LED's go off. So this means you can actually have 32 lights all over the room blinking on and off in tune with the music. That would make for one sweet rave! you set triggers to certain areas of either the waveform FFT or the waveform average

I remember late one night when I was on guard duty at a checkpoint near Jerusalem, there was this fancy BMW returning from a late night gambling at the Jericho casino. The dude had music blasting out of his car, and when he pulled to a stop at the checkpoint, I saw that he had a 8-9 inch touch screen, mounted like cellular phones are in cars, with Windows and a double-sized Winamp playing the music. It was really cool - he could play DVD's and everything...
Anyway, the reason I mention this is that it would be neat to have your party machine powered by the cigarette lighter in cars, and connect it to LED's strung like christmas lights inside the car... hehehe (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)
