There are far more people who know how to spell it than those who don't

You even misspelled "turret+n" (three r's in the link :p )

It's pretty cool though.

i was just making fun of the turrent craze and thought id give a smiley for those who can actually spell turret. as for the misspelling, well its the only way my smiley would show instead of breaking my url.

as for the turret itself

all in all i wasted 5 hours on this, made the whole thing from scratch. the only thing i used were the barrel assemblys, which i had left over ffrom vwep testing.

Oh you'd be surprised...there are pages of people talking about "turrents" and no matter how much I made fun of them they'd keep spelling it like nothing was wrong.

They are adding an extra letter to a word that doesn't have it...its doing MORE work to type it out.  People aren't usually prone to doing more work to be less correct :)

But it's still easier to spell turret. You don't have to go down to the downer row of your keyboard.

You know, I never even noticed the whole turret-turrent thing until just the other day...

Someone needs to make a smiley for mis-spellings of Cloak. (See SCP forum for reason)

One thing I have wondered for a long time: Why do so many people in this country pronounce "nuclear" as "nuculear"?

That pronunciation is used by at least a third of the people in Congress. It's practically the official Washington pronunciation of "nuclear".

On a side note, Ivanova also said "nucular" in one episode of Babylon 5.

Lo que pasa es que yo tan poco soy ingles, me entiendes?
:D

By the way, you guys know what a cloaca is, in my tongue? You aproach a cow from behind, lift the cow´s tail, and look. What you see there, is what we call a cloaca.

That's what it means in English too. At least for reptiles and birds it does. Never heard the term used for a cow before.
Title: "turrent"
Post by: NGTM-1R on June 02, 2005, 07:29:33 pm
That's because it shouldn't be.

Cloaca is a combined refuse ejection system for both solid and liquid waste.

And the genitals too for that matter. I've never been interested enough in cow genitals to know for certain whether or not a cow had one but I suspected it shouldn't  :D
