Title: A dream that I had.
Post by: Typhon_Paktu:SA on June 03, 2005, 12:11:00 pm
Well i am a freespace 2 fanatic fan. I just got all 3 cd's repaired so i could reinstall them again. It has been way too long since i have played that game.

But anyways about the dream I had.  My comp screen was messed up, you see the data cable was messed up. And we couildnt see the color red. And i will tell you what the screen has to do with my dream.

So not too long agoe I had a dream where I was flying a myrmadon a superiority fighter. Adn it was the last mission in the game that i was flying in. kinning any hostile inbound. little by litle the convoy was makeing it to the jumpnode.  Then I got tht criticle message tht i had to run for the node myself.

But all of  asudden I couldnt see the color red, I felt like i was flyng blind. I didnt know where the jump node was going but I knew to fly n a perticular direction.  I kept going. I could se the Sun in my dream to my left.  It was slowly  fadeing down........   (keep in mind its a dream.)

Then I could see the green jumpnode in front of me as I approched it. It didnt take me long after to reach it. I just wasnt sure of where i was going. Eventually i got to the node. And then i noticed that ui couldnt save everyone there, but i knew i had to go. then i looked back from me then i saw then everyone willmake it in they're own time.

The last  3 ships made it though. the sun was really going supernova. I was waiting for a girl she was with a friend of mie activateing the jumpnode.  But she still didnt come with me. to the second time i had to make the jup with out her. then all of a sudden they were with me bcause they had to make a jump as well, then i found myself somewhere else, they were not with me.  But i had an isea of what was going on.

......... END OF DREAM.

What d you guys think ?

You play FreeSpace way too much. Don't worry, I also had a dream I was a Jedi, wielding a lightsabre, not once. ;)

This happens.

Anyway:

Welcome to HLP, newcomer. We, the proud and little FreeSpace community, are glad that there are still people interested in this game. If you do not happen to be particularly interested in this game, you should stop reading the text in italic.

It is a general tradition at HLP that we zap the newest member using a weapon like this:
:welcome:
That said we modified the original GTVA beam cannon which is hazardless for friendly fire. The beam we fired at you was successfully absorbed by your Newbie Protection Shield technology(developed in January, 2002). Use the power you absorbed to contribute to the work of the community. To find you way how to assist the HLP people, go to FRED Academy (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,28122.0.html) and make a foray.

Enjoy your stay and keep your Newbie Protection System active all the time until you are officially promoted to Senior Member. Avoid asking about FreeSpace 3. Do a search and you will know why.

Thank you for reading all this piece of writing, let me wish you good luck and a happy stay!

No, the double post was unintentional. [Proof (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,0.msg681529.html#msg681529)]
Anyway, I don't think vacancy has a plural form.

I want to see a FS2 dream too. :p Only game related dream I had was after playing MGS. Anyway, I wonder if you'll see more FS dreams now that you're playing FS2 again. :D

I have yet to have a Freespace dream.

Freespace-induced pain, however (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,12048.0.html)...

[color=66ff00]I once had a dream that I was Solid Snake sneaking about whilst ED-209 was intent on killing me. That's not particularly strange on its own, the weird bit was having to open doors with appropriately coloured kazoos.

I dreamed the sequel sometime later where I paddled from eastern Russia to Australia in a one man dingy whilst trying to escape a submarine that was pursuing me.

Dreams rule.

I have game related dreams all the time (well when I do actually dream, An occurance that is getting rarer) if I play a game a lot.

Oddly enough I haven't had an FS related dream. I guess that means I need to play more often :D

I agree with TopAce. :p

Hmm, overwhelmed you feel with such odds. Hero you may be, untouchable you are, but save everyone you cannot. I have that recurring theme in my dreams as well, the whole "hero" thing.

Last night I had a dream I was hunting down Carmen Sandiego. I sneaked into her office with a club or some bludgeoning weapon. *Shrugs*

Only video game dream I had was one of descent 3. I was in my house which had been attacked by various robots and almost completely destroyed. Then a stinger (annoying robot that shoots homing missiles) came up in front of me and started firing. I ducked behind a wall, which protected me. (yes, wood and insulation CAN defend against homing missiles) I stayed there until I woke up, about five minutes later.

I've dreamed about being able to move things with the Force so much that I've gotten it down to a technique. :p

Concentrate on the object...'feel' its contours with your mind, letting the Force flow around it. Focus on moving the object...be careful not to lose concentration, lest your accuracy degrade.

 Do you mean you have achieved lucid dreaming WMC? If you have, do you have any tips? I'm trying to get to that point.

I had a dream that I was a Jedi once. I fended off hoards of zombies and then tried to kill my father who was behind all of it, only he was immune. I had another one where I was a Jedi, but I can't remember it. I write down my dreams, helps me remember and analyze them.

Been reading "I, Jedi?"

I had a very detailed FS dream not long ago...I'm building a mission out of it, in fact.

My dreams are usually horrible. I have lots of half-remembered night terrors, and most others involve me dying or witnessing death. I don't know what that signifies...

I dream a lot. I had a dream last night, actually three...one I went back to Italy, and a girl I know was for some reason also there, and heading to get a pregnancy test.

Another dream myself and another girl (not the same) were being held hostage on a beach by these soldiers. I found a weapons locker and shot most of them with a silenced pistol while they were sleeping. I ran out of ammo and they woke up, and I ran away, grabbing another magazine, whereupon I climbed up a large hill and shot them as they were following me.

Another dream I had was I think an extension of this one. I was in a gym, with a lot of members of my class, and we killed the guys who were holding us  hostage. Then we found another weapons locker, pulled out the guns, and then ended up outside, in a WWII enviroment. We charged up a hill under heavy gunfire, and eventaully took it.
Coolnes :D

I had a dream last night that I was in a gun fight with some soldier chick. The strange thing was that I could see her life and stamina bars in the upper left corner of my vision so it must have been a boss fight. Too much Metal Gear Solid 3. :p

the only video game that I ever dreamed about was GTA San Andreas. I was just stealin cars, drivin like a maniac and hackin people up with the chainsaw, but the whole dream was viewed in the third person and while I looked real everyone else looked like a cartoon.

I don't know, but I had a Metal Gear dream a few nights ago myself.

It was the scene where you fight the Hind on the roof, only Liquid had mounted a machine gun in the cargo area and was running it. Every once in a while, he'd swing down on a rope and try to knife me. Then just before the chopper crashed, he roped down. We had a struggle. I wound up throwing him off the roof onto some flat surface on wheels. He was dead for sure, I think.

If you want to figure out what your dreams mean, you really need to think to yourself when you wake up from a dream, "What does this all mean to me." Pick out anything that stands out to you and ask yourself that question: death, conflict, a person, the setting, colors (if you dream in color) an object, time of day, just about anything can be a symbol in a dream.

Let's take my dream for example. OK, the only thing that stands out to me is the conflict. I didn't get a good look at what Liquid looked like. (People don't have to look the same in dreams.) I am constantly conflicted with life, and I guess I just want it to go away. The chopper could mean something overwhelming, but I will ultimately triumph over it. Just like in the game, it will take patience, lots of patience (and maybe a stinger). ^_^

Wow, I didn't even bother to analyze that one when I first had it. It's best to do this when you've just had the dream, as your reactions towards everything you saw will be pure. Unfortunately, we don't all have time for that in the morning.

Then piece together everything like I did. It's kind of like analyzing a movie but not really. If you have an "Ah-ha!" reaction, then go with that. Only the dreamer knows the meaning of his or her dreams.

You can learn a lot from your dreams. The subconcious holds many secrets of the mind, and sometimes it's trying to tell you something. It has a tendency to keep reminding you by making your dreams more intense (nightmares for some).

Now if only I could attain lucid dreaming. >.<

When I sleep for a short amount of time, usually about 7-8 hours, I remember everything about my dreams but when I get my full 12-13 hours or so of sleep I don't remember a thing.  And 12-13 hours is normal for me usually from about 12am to 1pm or 1am to 1pm.  The longest amount of time I've ever slept is 15 hours I think.

I don't see how that would be good, unless your dreams are seriously disturbing. I also don't see how dreaming would be bad, unless like I said before, you dream of terrible, terrible things.

Well, dreams are like the way your subconcious communicates with you. It gives us insight into it. It could be telling you something important. Your dreams could be telling you about something in your life or inspire you. This may be going out on a limb, but some may even be premonitions. I had one. Everyone dreams, but not everyone remembers them. It's not bad if you don't remember them. That's just the way it is, I guess. However, I see you do, and you manage to remember every detail, which I think is good for the most part. My dreams go fuzzy minutes after I wake up if I don't commit it to memory or start writing.
