As part of GTI Rebellion, I've been looking through music and looking for specific theme music for each of the races in the campaign.
For that, I need suggestions.
- PVN - Using battle music from "Alexander" (already released with Demo)
- Unnamed Rebel Group #1 - Theme music from "The Rock" - something militaristic and intense
- Shivans - "Mars - Bringer of War" from Gustav's Planets Suite (under consideration - suggestions appreciated)
- GTI - Battle music from "Aliens".
- Unnamed Rebel Group #2 - Need something vengeful and powerful. If it wouldn't cause anyone to break down and attack me, we were considering "Battle of the Heroes" from ROTS... anything along those lines is good.
- GTA - Unknown. Need something along the lines of a military march or majestic (ala SW "Imperial March")
Comments and suggestions would be greatly appreciated :)

GTA -
Possibly "Anvil of Crom" from the conan the barbarian soundtrack. Possibly Bravely Folk Song off the original Soul Edge soundtrack. Possibly Leo's theme from the Lunar:EB soundtrack.
Unnamed Rebel group -
Uh, this is gonna sound strange, but the WooFakFak music from Banjo-Kazooie might work.
Oh, and if you need good music for an important battle, I highly suggest Ogre Battle - Zenobia's grave(a champion has risen) from Overclocked remix. Fits perfectly into the freespace universe too, IMHO.

I'm not sure where to find it right now, but if all else fails I have a copy. Best I can give you right now is Push, a slightly modified version, to be found here: http://www.battletechmodproductions.com/dloads_var.shtml Lots of stuff there if you need anything else, too. And maybe check with Flipside about his Darkest Hour?
- GTA - Unknown. Need something along the lines of a military march or majestic (ala SW "Imperial March") Main theme from the movie Gettysburg? From the same source March to Mortality as well. May want to check your copy of TBP, too: ITF_1-amb, ITF_1-vic, and ITF_6 sound like they might fit. If you want a slightly better-quality versions, they can be found at http://www.third-space.net/archive/?type=Music I would recommend checking all the Into The Fire battle sequence tracks as all of them have at least a portion that fits this description.

EDIT: Seems third-space.net is down. Again if all else fails I have copies, though I'll be darned if I know how I'll get them to you.

Hmm, vengeful, I'd suggest Dies Irae from Verdi's Requiem, Carmina Burana or maybe Totentanz. Something along those lines.

Is this supposed to be major or minor? Anyway, for this I'd suggest Mahler symphony no. 6 1st or 3rd movement, Dvorak symphony no. 9 4th movement or Tchaikovsky Symphony no. 6, 3rd movement.

This is slightly unrelated but has any one noticed that FS1 music was better for the game genre than FS2 music. The FS2 campain did'nt take the player far enough into hell for the music they used IMO considering for a little more thanhalf the game you were fighting the NTF and not the Shivans. I dunno you shoulf use the original game music for the GTA or something simaler(sp) IMO:rolleyes:

Won't there be copyright issues if you distibrute this music?
-
I don't believe so, since I will give credit to the original source, and that the music won't be in its full-length form (as on a CD or such).
