Just wondering.
Recently I've been playing a kinda match maker between the only woman I have ever had really deep feelings for and one of my friends just so they could be happy...
I've also said to a loada my friends that if a joint endeveur of ours goes tits up, I'll take the rap for it (prob means I get expelled from 6th form but that is irrelevent).
I'm just wondering, what lengths would other ppl go to to help a friend?

Hard one. Depends on the friend.

Depends how well his liver goes with fava beans.

It's hard to say really.

Friends are not important. Only you are important. Always remember that.

Lol, I wouldn't like to be your friend and be in the mess at the same time (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

*hasn't had a decent Real Life friend in 3 years, and couldn't be happier*

sucks to be you jabu...
Hm... Like they said. Depends on the friend.
I have alot of friends who are assholes, and some true good friends. It really depends on which one it was...
-
I'd have to say that it depends on my mood. I have severe mood swings and can be all happy and nice one minute and attacking you with a television the next. But generally I'd go to any lengths to help or protect a friend as long as they deserved it. If they'd just gunned down six old ladies, **** em but anything short of rape, murder or kidnapping and I'd do anything for them, even if they were only a casual aquiantaince.
I don't like people associated with me being made to look bad.
-
You seem like a good guy. But you need a friend who will give you due credit. Which, by the sounds of it, is a lot.
-
Giving your girl away? Now THAT's ANY length. I give you props on that one Claw. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)
Actually, I'm generally a really nice person, and I'd go just about any length to really help out a friend. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif) Well, maybe not ANY length, but definately out of my way. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

Toughie- does your mate actually know you like her?
As for the other thing, never take the rap for anything - otherwise you'll just get taken advantage of.
-
I'd help a friend any way i could, but would stop as soon as they became a drain on my resources (I.E, asked for more than 2 cigs, started abusing things without reciprocating)

The friend:
When a friend gets into a fight, he tries to stop it.
The true friend:
When a friend gets into a fight, he drinks one last beer, jumps in, beats everyone down (including his friend), and gets beaten more than anyone else. Then he gets his friend, and beats him down again for getting into the fight.
I'm more of the second kind. If the guy's a real friend. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

Then I don't want you as a real friend.. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/lol.gif)

snipes is almost at his 1000th post!
maybe we should plan a special reception?

It's the giraffes, not me.

But those friends that are assholes, aren't friends... they are just assholes (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)
I have really few real life(not internet (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)) friends, five or six is enough for me... the rest is just coleagues... It is much better that way, because those five friends are always willing to help you and vice-versa, the coleagues are just for fancy stuff and time hanging (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)

I would go exactly four feet for one. Provided I didn't have to do anything after that.
But seriously- I don't know. I live way out in the middle of nowhere, where the populations is about 1 old lady to 400 cats, and nobody else. So all but one of the friends I make are on the few short trips when I get outta the house, and I don't manage to keep in touch afterwards. Most of these friends- I wouldn't screw with their minds, and that's about it. Of course, I might do all these other things you mentioned, since I don't have any personal opposition to any of them, but only if I knew I wasn't just getting screwed by some guy I knew, even unintentionally, and had some kinda personal compulsion to do so as well- bump off some real ******* we both knew and who was, say, extorting money from my friend, somethiung like that. The only thing I wouldn't do for friend or girlfriend is give up doing what I do best- the Revolution.
-
Well, the guy I'm on about probably knows I like her, but... he's him... He aint exactly the best of my friends, but I don't know him that well.
By the way, don't worry about me being taken advantage of, never happens. I seem to have a knack for wondering into the line of fire way before anyone pushes me there (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)
-
Well, Raven, yeah you are right. I have about 4 or 5 real friends off line who would really do stuff with/for me... The rest just are people to joke with/about and really have no serious bond with.
And I made 1000 posts, look at my fancy new title (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/rolleyes.gif)

Look at mine (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/tongue.gif)
Over the last couple of daYS, i have learnt some important lessons, some things never change, while some never stay the same. I also learnt you should ALWAYS pour water on a chip-fat fire (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)
Bad news comes in double whammies, good news is always late (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

(About the good news - at the very least, it is a pleasant surprise at the end of what can be a long hour, a long day, or a long month (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif))

Damn, did I really write that thing? Gotta lay off the space crack... It has always seemed to me that friendship should be a matter of mutual convienience, but naturally if you didn't want to do this you wouldn't have started in the first place.

Very true but there are those of us that try to go against the grain.

I like to think you can't get more against the grain than me (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)
Unlike seemingly so many others in this country, I have my own mind.

chicken filled mind, but still mind =D
