Title: Is there a problem with Homesick?
Post by: Pnakotus on June 11, 2005, 07:33:00 pm
I've recently installed SCP on a new puter, and figured all the crashing would go away.  It didn't, but I've (sorta) narrowed it down to homesick.vp.  Playing Homesick, I'll get through *ONE* mission and then the next one will certainly crash, taking the system with it and forcing a hard restart.  If Homesick.vp is in my FS2 root, other missions/campaigns will crash occasionally too.  I just removed it and played through seven Derelict missions without a crash.

So, is there some sort of issue with Homesick?  Is it just the latest build?

Homesick features many red-alerts, something which 3.6.5 was tempermental about for reasons I don't think were ever fully determined. Primarily this problem showed up when people were playing TBP campaigns, though.

I doubt it's actually Homesick causing the problems with other campaigns. Check and see if the problem missions are red-alerts.

It's really every mission.  If its the second mission I've played in a session, it's 100% certain it will crash, usually when I'd expect SEXPs were gettnig flipped: when a ship arrives, a ship leaves, a ship gets destroyed, etc.
