Title: Calling any AVCE ICT students

Hey Folks,

This thread is aimed only at people who have taken the two-year AVCE ICT course (only in England as far as I know). I’m near the end of the course, and have pretty much finished everything – The course consists of twelve units, there are fifteen units in total but only twelve are selected – Six for each year. I have finished 10 of those 12 units, and I had nearly finished the last two I was working on (System Analysis and Database Design) but lost them due to a virus! And yes, I should have had a backup, but due to all the stress I’ve been under recently (course related stress was only a minor part in it) it just slipped my mind. So now I’m stuck in a predicament. These two units are major parts of the second year certificate, so if I don’t pass them, I won’t get the double award and pretty much screws up the whole two years. I don’t even wanna think what’ll happen then…

I’ve tried to start both units again, but with only a few days left, and limited amounts of notes, I’m running into real problems trying to remember what I did, how to do this etc. So if there’s anyone out there at all who has done the two related units (System Analysis and Database Design), please get in touch with me via e-mail if you are willing to help. I will discuss the details only in email. This is humiliating….

Just checking but how much file recovery have you tried? Some of the crappier viruses just delete the files.

Its an external hard drive that they were stored on, it doesn't work anymore, even after a format. I assume a nasty virus, but it could just be seriously ****ed up hardware.

I did the AVCE ICT course years ago, isnt the database and system analysis a 15 hour exam unit? It was with mine.

Yeah, its a continued assessment unit - But they let us do it at home when we're unable to attend.
