Title: Ts5 rendering - advice required
Post by: aldo_14 on July 21, 2001, 06:58:00 am
Basically, I'm going to need ot do some briefing anis / cutscenes for the campaign (unless I can get someone else to do it  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif) )

So I want to know if the following are possible using TS and, hopefully, how;

- Real time beam firing
- Lightning / nebula effects (I think there's a plug-in for the lightning)
- Explosions & shockwaves
- Warp anis
- Visible engine glows

Thanks  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

I don't use Ts for rendering but the warpout shouldn't be a problem.

1. Extract the warpout from the VP.

2. Convert the .ani to an avi or to bitmap if you don't gonna do an animation.

3. Texture a box with the warpout and add a opacity map.

4. Render. Voila!!

Ok, although don't expect any blindingly intelligent info from me  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif) - at least till I've fully figured out this Ts lark.

Well, that's  an unusual plug-in.
