This guy Derren Brown is a hypnotist and puts a trance on some guy and makes him believe he's in the game...
Pretty amazing trick (if its not all staged that is, edit*which as I watch it again it probably is).
Real Life Zombie Game (http://www.alldumb.com/item/11984/)

wow.

If that's real, that host guy's a genius. If it's not, it's still entertaining to watch :D
It's particularly funny when he starts screamin "You're dead, you're ****ing dead!" and that girl just starts looking at the monitor like "what...the...****."
-
I doubt it's staged, that bloke's fear is either deadly real, or some of the best acting i've ever seen...
-
I saw this when they showed it on Channel 4. I've never seen the guy live but he's done enough tricks that he'd need to have a whole county full of patsys to cover all the tricks he's done. On top of that after doing one particularly astounding trick he showed us exactly how he did it and that made it clearer how he could do other things without needing actors.
As for this particular trick it's very freaky and some people complained that he might have gone too far since the guy was obviously terrified but hadn't actually given any kind of consent to having this done to him.
That said the guy came out of it thinking it was the best video game experience of his life and didn't seem too unhappy at watching the footage of himself so it ended well enough.
To be honest though it's the mind reading stuff the guy does that amazes me more than hypnotism like this. There was one episode where he got a footballer and a goalie to take penalties and he predicted where the footballer would try to place the ball five times in a row.
-
That's just odd.
Pretty cool, though. :D
-
Did you ever see the Russian Roulette thing he did? I didn't but I heard it was impressive...
-
Seems fake, I mean, doesn't he notice that the gun A) looks fake, and B) is fake?
Not to mention he recovers waaay too fast when he's put back.
Plus, I probably would've rushed up and beat the "zombies" over the head :D

We'll try it out on you and see how well your analytical abilities hold up when you appear to have inexplicably woken up inside a nightmarish arcade game. :)

I'll still beat them over the head then :p

Offhand, you can do that specific bit by looking at the instep of the player & the general body inclination; it's not too hard. I used to be able to guess 9/10 which way the player will shoot (still can, watching the telly).

Cause they should have given him a real gun and let him kill the actors right?
You wake up, confused, dioriented and facing zombies with a toy gun in your hand. Are you seriously telling me you wouldn't give it a try just in case? After the first time the "toy" seems to actually work would you just go "Oh this looks fake. Not gonna try it again then. I'll just let the zombies eat my liver"
-
Not to mention that if you can hypnotise someone into thinking he's being attacked by zombies, then you can make him think he's got a real gun as well.
-
The camera angles make it seem fake..........but the guys emotion does not.

And even if it isn't real the thing looks enough like a paintball gun to fool anyone who's never used one. Ever been hit at close range by a paintball? It f**king hurts which makes it quite a good weapon to threaten with.

Quite probably, but what on TV isn't?

I've seen a guy hiponotyse a group of people into beliving they are in a onld haunted manor..(.and each had a role...one was a paranormal investigator for instance) and he allso told them that everything in yellow will be invisible to them
and use enough guys in yellow suits took astuff and lifted them and the group panicked, thinking hte items levitate..
The big finale was when a yellow painted forklift lifed a car in the air...
-
I think it's fake, but it's a damn good fake and creepy.
-
Hypnotism is real. It's just so often faked that people like to believe it all is.
-
I never said I thought hypnotism is fake (I think it's real) - I think this is fake.
-
I never said you were wrong. ;)
