It's been a long, long time since I've seen a movie this good. If you're waffleing, go see it. Now.
-
I doubt it can compare to Sin City :p Seen the trailer, the idea seems funny, but that's really nothing more than a popcorn movie imho.
-
Sin City's a totally different genre, I grant that. Plus a movie review / opinion is only good if one's opinions are similar to the opinion-giver. So, since I thought Sin City was a bizzare movie that bordered on insanity, not genius, and was very nearly a waste of time... ;)
-
Honestly, it looks like a bunch of famous actors, 'xplosions and cheap gags, with everything else taking a backseat. Of course, I haven't actually seen it, so feel free to contradict me at any point...like now.
-
andy, didn't you also say that epp3 was a good movie
-
I loved Mr. + Mrs. Smith. Good, funny action movie that didn't pull any punches (unlike standard fare, when people got thrown out of cars, they actually got run over :D).
Sure, it's mindless violence with impossible shooting stunts, but the movie isn't trying to be anything else. It's good fun, imo.
-
i haven't seen it yet, but the trailers are awesome. :D
"Danny?"
"MOM! We're on high alert here! I almost killed you right there!" :D
-
that's not a spoiler. it was in the commericals.
-
Hey, while we're talking about movies, I saw Batman Begins last night, and it was awesome.
-
I enjoyed this movie. It's a good date movie for those of you that can't stand chick flicks.

Bifferent genre, but I based it on the "long time I haven't seen a movie that good". On that base, it could have been a porno movie, the comparison would still have been valid ;)

Episode 3, which we're not changing the subject to, was a movie that trounced Episodes 1 & 2, and thus left one with a relatively good impression when coming out of the theater. However, that impression got worse and worse the more one thought about the movie. Current;y, I wouldn't define Ep3 as a "good movie" by any standards. :ick:
Mr. & Mrs. Smith, however, is great. As I said before, the give and take between the two main characters is done most excellently, and stands on its own, without any help at all from the action scenes - which are also good.

Good for you, or you'd have received the (http://www.yopi.de/images/prod_pics/700/e/700736.jpg) award :doubt:

if you didn't like Ep. 3, you guys suck then. :doubt:
-
I rather liked Mr. & Mrs. Smith. Action movie with a little bit of romantic comedy thrown in.
-
Looks like it could be good. But I have to see Sin City, Batman Begins, Kung Fu Hustle and War of the Worlds first...

BTW Nico, Bad Taste was a great flik.

I didn't think Episode 3 was a good movie, but I did like it. The two feelings are distinct. :)
-
Maddox had an awesome review of Ep.3. More than good enough to convince me not to see it. (Despite how I hadn't seen 1, or 2)

Also, don't mind Cobra. He's still PG-13, the target audience of the Star Wars movies really.

Sandwich, you've let too many people tell you its a bad movie. Think about it for yourself, who cares what others think. EP 3 is a great movie. Anyways, I loved Mr. and Mrs. Smith, it was a movie that was actually very entertaining, well worth the 7 bucks.

Mwahaha :D Think about it: save for the visuals, what was good? :p

Any movie that includes my sex goddess has to be a good one!

It's all relative, my dear sir. I realize Lucas made great strides in his movie-making skills compared to Episodes I and II. But now go watch Episodes IV thru VI, and then tell me Episode III is a "great movie".
-
I agree, I just rewatched the original series, and the entire thing was incredible. I could actually suspend my disbelief and enjoy the film, rather than being swamped by special effects. They were truly great films, altho after seeing Episodes I-III, I noticed one or two lines that bore George's distinct "crap-o-matic" stamp. :( Other than those one or two lines, though, the films (IV-VI) were awesome.
III was crap. It was overloaded with soulless special effects, and the entire star wars series was built on the undercurrent of a soul through the universe, which Episodes I-III plastic look, feel, and universe lack.
But yea, I think Natalie Portman was hot, way hotter than Leia :D And if you look carefully in Ep II, you'll see some nipple through that tight white shirt she has :D

I was talking of Mr and Mrs Smith, nor EP3. Angelina is my godess, everyone knows that.
-
I found Mr & Mrs Smith quite medicore. I'm usually into explosions and **** but this one just didn't appeal to me. I thought it was kinda the suck.
Maybe it was because I was having a bad day when I saw it though...
-
I enjoyed it. Just got back. It could be because the last movie I saw was "The Longest Yard" which sucked infected monkey tail, but this entertained me. from me.
-
Mr. and Ms. Smith rocked. The one-liners were awesome. The action was great, mostly, and the only scenes with the standard absurds of this kind of movie were the time they shoot the BMWs on the chase scene and they explode, and the last fight when they leave the small room with the bags. The dinner scene after the botched assassination in the desert was awesome.
-
Actually, Batman begins blew Mr & Mrs Smith out of the water. It was a better movie. (Note; I liked both)
-
Batman was awesome, and it was completely, utterly, no-discussion about it faithful to the comics. If you've ever read that new series..the first book is titled "Batman: Year One", then you'll see what I mean.
-
I watched it in the IMAX theatre! :D
