Title: This is a pain in the ass
Post by: MicroPsycho on June 18, 2005, 04:11:53 pm
I had a virus on my comuter that i couldn't wipe out, so I backed up all my files I wanted to keep. I formatted the harddrive and reinstalled windows and such. Now, I insert my DVD backup, open up My Computer and read that the disk is in the drive and occupies 3.3 gb, that's good. I click on the disk to open it up and the computer can't find any files, it just keeps showing that flashlight looking for a folder animation. Any ideas on how I can access my precious backup disc?

did you check the disc to make sure it was working before you reformatted?

try using PCI file inspector (google the name) to read the disc - you might be able to recover some stuff using that. Good luck...

Man, that's very unfortunate. Although I can't give you any useful advice, sorry.

did you reinstall your burner software? sometimes you have to install them for certain dvd/cd formats to be read.
