Title: Shadows of Lylat needs your help
Post by: DaBrain on June 21, 2005, 07:17:19 am
To complete our work on the first mission, we need someone to UV map a big model. It's complex, but not that complex, as we already have enouhg polygons in the first mission.

I'm going to texture it, so it's no hard job for an UV mapper with a bit experience. (Which I lack in this sector... :( )

I wish I had more free time, and a more focussed attention span!

Like I said (wrote ;) ) already. Your UV map is going to help us out a big time.

You saw a shot of the other model. Do you think it's a hard job for an experienced UV mapper?

Ehh, not really. But like I said, a combination of tiled and UV'd mapping would do wonders.

HELP!!! :shaking:

Axem is working on models again. Models, that need to be UV mapped. The number of those models increases very fast.

Maybe it's easy to learn, but I'm working on a lot of other things right now.

Maybe Axem should learn to UV map, and make himself doubly useful? ;)

He is doing a lot of work already. I don't want to ask him for anything more. ;)

Don't tell me you want a UV Mapped Zeram. That's just... crazy. With a capital C, R, A, Z, and Y.

But yeah, I guess I'll go try UVing simple stuff right now.

This reminds me to finish the last part of the ship I owe, and then sort the UVings onto one map...

Hallo, I like to think that I can UVmap.

I use Wings3d and can export the finished UV in .obj

I use 256*256 maps that can be later stiched to form a 1024*1024 map. (Haven't worked out just how yet)

If you don't mind your models having a lot of maps (10-30) I can help. My biggest project wound up with 407 maps.

I also LOVE Starfox.

If I fit your bill, send me preferably .3ds files to

[email protected]

407 Maps... ?
That is a lot. :eek2:
Most models should have only one map... :(
There is one model that could use a few maps, but not too many.

Sounds more like you are working with tile maps.

I'm not sure whether this is what were looking for or not, but thanks for your offer anyway. :)

Wow. We finally got an offer and it's probably not what we're looking for.

Ya know. We should set off fireworks as an advertising ploy to get people to join the staff. Hmm....:drevil:

You say you use Wings3D (just like me :D), how exactly are you UVMapping? I'm just learning UVMapping in Wings, but all I really need is a map an object right now.

How are you getting 30 maps? Are you also using 30 objects, or are you spitting the ship into different materials and mapping that way?

is too many. 10 maps for a single model is waaay too many. I'm surprised FS2 doesn't explode with that much.
