Just a short story. :)
Once upon a time, the dastardly Count Shiva was planning on blowing a star!
"Muahaha! No one can stop me!" said Count Shiva.
"Hold it right there!" a voice called out from above.
"It is I! GTVA Man!" GTVA Man said, "Defender of Truth, Justice, and Really Huge Ships!"
"GTVA Man?!" Count Shiva said surprised, "Well, you're too late! With one flick of this switch, I shall destroy this star!"
"I don't think so. I shall stop you with the power of BEAMS!"
"NOOOOOO!!!" cried Count Shiva.
With Count Shiva dead, the star is safe!
But for how long?!

Some people are simply too young to remember the days of cheesy cartoons (that were actually drawn) and 286 computers...

Depends which Transformers you're thinking of. There were several sets that would connect together to make one big robot too.

*Sighs* Ah, those were the days. When cartoons were actually good, and now we can relive the Transformers experience on DVD. ^_^

Couldn't the Dinobots do it at one point too?
-
You can find extensive info in the wikipedia about the topic (no kidding!)...

Ironically I can only remember the Aerialbots even though I actually had both of the other sets that could do it and never actually owned a single aerialbot

yeah i know what Voltron is, been like 6 years since i saw it. but i have no idea how in the hell that could remind someone of voltron.
-
The Lions, seperate, ships, seperate, Voltron, together, GTVA Man, together...?
-
That is one sexy Vasuda Man.
:nervous: Yeah, Voltron's another close resemblance. Notice no one has thought about Power Rangers much? That's because these are cool. So everyone goes "Voltron."
:wakka:
[EDIT] Yay! I'm finally not an Apollo anymore! Melikes.

Err... Have you ever seen Voltron?
*has infancy reminiscences* ah, the eighties... those were the times...

The Power Rangers was just a very successful rip-off of Voltron. I have the complete Voltron set somewhere. ^_^
-
Was Voltron that Japanese dude that would grow in size and battle King King, Godzilla, et al?
-
Voltron was the big mechanical Lions with pilots that combined to make a big dude with a sword (they always use swords...) The thing that gets big...didn't come to America early enough to look like it was good (that would've had to be in the 80's or early 90's). And I don't even remember what its called...heck I didn't watch it.
I can't remember the name of the princess from Voltron...anyone?
Heck, I can't remember ANY of their names....
Gah, now I have to go look it all up.
-
Check into the Wikipedia, there should be that one too ;)
-
I want to see Count Shiva wreaking havoc on Tokyo. :D
-
Hehe, Wikipedia has everything. ^_^
Princess Allura, what a pretty name.
-
You hopeless nerds.

Hmmm. To be more precise, Voltron: The Third Dimension.
:p

What? I like cartoons and pretty names. I'm not drooling over her. And shouldn't you be telling that to the people that like the Vasudan female that Japong made? ^_^

Vasuda Man and Alpha1 rock my world. Nice work.
There were THREE Voltrons (not counting the CG one), you n00bs. One was five lions, one was a bunch of vehicles (ten or fifteen, I think) and one was three robots (one formed the legs and hips, one the middle torso, and one the upper torso, arms and head). The three robots Voltron didn't see air in the US, so far as I know.

you might want to get your facts straight. you were right about the last 2 voltrons, but the first one (lions) was on the air in US.

That's exactly what mik said; The three robots Voltron didn't see air in the US. Not 'the three Voltron robots', the Voltron made of 3 robots.
Maybe you should look ath others peoples facts properly before telling them to get their facts straight?

Hahaha. Best topic since the MSPaint one.
-
Heh, all I can remember from my childhood animes is a late night show of Yamato. Beside that we had Saber Rider.
Both of them on german channels.
Those are my early anime memories until NGE was aired on VOX as part of 'Anime Nacht' along with ROLW, Macross DYRL....
-
Hehhehhe !!!!
Never thought you could use FS2 ships to create...transformers.
-
Let's see some serious power with EA Man!

Damn, I wish we were treated to Evangelion here that early, even though it would've been ripped to shreads, and a lot of these shows have remarkably complex elements sewn in them that may go over kids' heads.

That was in 97-98 during midnight runs.... BTW I was 13 at the time.

That's so awesome, GTVA Man and Count Shiva. I wonder how slow the mission was when it started.
-
No slow! When it comes to direct and decisive action, GTVA Man is your best choice!

120 FPS! With both of them off screen :nervous:
I think I got around 20fps max, and around 12fps average.
Makes me wonder what LS's animated glow maps would've done... :shaking:
