Back, and better than ever... running on dual AMD Opterons 244s, 4 GB RAM, a 40Mbit connection, and running debian 64bit; all in a 1U case.
swooh.com will point to the new server just as soon as we can find our username and password :)

 :)
So I won't have to re-register?

give us another week or two at least before we get the hosting done... right now it's just running off its 40 GB hard drive. we HAD a 200 GB and a 160 GB, but the 160GB is fried, and the 200 GB, while brand new, is broken... so we're sending it back and getting a replacement.
i was just letting everyone know :D

don't you just love the DOA warrenty on stuff.. "if it's ****ed up out of the box, or dies within 7-14 days of purchase, you can get a brand new one".. or, in some cases, get the store to swap it around, much to thier disgust :p

Good news. Where did u manage to grab a high speed connection?
-
Do you still have the old files?
-

Assume that unless they had a SATA RAID, no.
-
why would it have to be SATA RAID? what about IDE RAID? SCSI RAID?
actually, we do have everyone's files. when swooh went offline a few months ago it wasn't because of a hardware failure; those two hard drives failed recently, during the setup. long story.

Because I wasn't aware of IDE raid, and SCSI is something I forget exists easily?
-
fair enough :)
but yeah, i have everyone's files. only reason we lost the 160 GB is because the whole computer overheated hardcore once we put the 1U's cover on (it had been running for days with it off)... the RAM overheated, the processors ALMOST did, and the 160 GB definately did :(

Nice question mark.
-
Nothing about SCSI is easy or cheap...the only truly expensive hard drive in the store where I work is a SCSI.
-
SCSI still 0wns
