yesterday morning i went swimming at newcastle beach with my housemate. i left my bag on the beach with our shoes and stuff. when we came out of the water it was gone. it had my towel, my skirt, my leg warmers, my purse (money, keycard, id cards), mobile and housekeys in it. _and_ it was a cool backpack.
i hate people.
walked around for hours looking in the bins and stuff where that loser might've chucked it. didn't find it, but some chick did pick up my phone and returned it, so i guess that was cool. but yeah, i'm not feeling kindly disposed to the human race atm. what absolute loser nicks off with someone's clothes and towel, far out. why can't they just rifle through the bag and take the money. if i ever find out who did it, someone's gonna get smacked.

People are douche bags, It is something that is learned the hard way. Like when a good friend decides to make out with your prom date.
-
Some ******** stole my blanket right off the line the other day. Kick arse blanket it was, and it's the middle of winter. ****ers.
Actually... that's a good point. What the hell were you doing at the beacjh? It's June...
[EDIT]What the... you people have ar[/b]sewipe censored? Who came up with the list, Mother Teresa? :doubt:
-
I hate it when girls say "Hey let's make plans on ___" and then ____ rolls around and, hey, no call, and apparently they're intentionally not calling back. Possibly even intentionally avoiding me. :wtf: At least have the decency to say "something came up" or "I was high" or "I actually think you're ugly".
-
at the risk of this turning anti female thread, umm I have found it better to avoid the whole dating thing and generally not to trust women or people for that matter....Is that healthy? :nervous:
-
icespeed if you ever find out who took it rip their arm off and beat the living **** out of them with it. Then after you have released the anger you can go back to enjoying people. and if you don't find out who did it go on a random killing spree. Trust me it'll make you feel better.;)
-
This may not sound right, but...well, you should've known better. Your typical person is scum, and you should always expect the worse from them when it comes to respecting other peoples property.
Solution: Rig your **** with tear gas whenever you're forced leave it alone. Satisfying AND effective.

most sympathetic post EVAR!

You expect me to stay on-topic?
Yes, that was mostly for my benefit, but I'm sure I only really notice it when girls do it and there are guys who are just as bad as well (I just don't really care).
So the obvious conclusion is that it likely is true that, yes, people do suck. :p

people should be on fire.

You first.

Never had the misforture of that happening...never had the opportunity of that misfortune to happen either. Read some psychology papers....its all a mindgame.
Yeah people suck. They can't drive properly, follow basic decent rules properly, or do much of anything.
-
That truly is a broken world for you.
Makes grace that much more amazing.

Then again... you kindda asked for it :doubt:
-
That why I don't risk it, and just stay inside all the time. All the human contact I need is just a binocular away.
-
[color=66ff00]No luck icespeed.
Take solace in the fact that you know a great many more decent people. One horrible person can make you question people in general but in my experience the world is filled with far more good than bad.

People will knick anything. Just a few days ago the number off my front door was taken. It's as they say if it aint nailed down someone will take it and if it is nailed down they will take the nails as well.
-
Humans do suck, but I think 9 times out of 10, your stuff wouldn't have been touched. You just happen to have been the 10th time.
I miss going to the beach, but I have no money. :(
-
Perplexing.
A few weeks back during school, I flung five dimes and a quarter down the hall, and nobody even touched the money. A few people glanced at it, but didn't take it.
Then I had an idea. I screamed, "No, wait! Don't take my money! I need that!"
The cash disapeared faster than George Luca's fanbase! They wouldn't take the money until they thought it would hurt me.
People are scum, through and through.
-
Bad luck icespeed. Things like that ruin your day quite nicely.
I'm somewhat torn on my opinion of people at the moment. My nihilistic tendencies are conflicting with my experience of people I know. People are very strange animals...
-
That sucks icespeed :( Most I can say is live and learn though, and don't leave your stuff lying around if you can help it.
Anyway, yea, peopel suck, but I hang around the good ones. The bad ones can go blow themselves for all I care. If you're not a good person, then I don't want to know you.
-
and don't leave your stuff lying around if you can help it.
Or hide mousetraps in your stuff.
"Where's my stuff?!"
"Just follow the blood, idiot."
people should be on fire.
Naturally.
-
Buncha crazy Brits, the whole bloody lot of you.

ROFL - I have no idea, actually... I've never heard that term before.
-
Why don't you guys go into the list and edit it around a bit? It's really annoying, especially for story writers (check the movie thread or the art forums and see how many *'s are in each one :D).
-
thanks guys... for those who showed a little sympathy anyway, that was a comfort.
for those ppl who reckon i deserved it, you know there aren't that many pockets in my swimmers to carry all that stuff, and i wasn't planning on bringing my towel into the water with me. and it's not like i could _get_ to the beach in the first place without bringing some money and id for the bus, and don't tell me not to bring my mobile with me.
oh hang on, yeah, that's what my mum said too. it's all my fault, i was asking for it. like those chicks who dress normally and then get raped, obviously they were asking for it too, i mean it's not the guy's fault he can't control his urges. it's not general thieving scumbags' fault they can't control their kleptomania.
sheesh.
and yeah. beach. swimming. what else would i be doing?

Aaaaaaah.
There's is a huge, a colossal, a fantasmagotic differcen between "you asked for it" and "you deserved it" :p
I meant "you should have seen it coming". Really, I've been told not to leave my stuff alone like that since I'm a little kid. When I go to the beach, we just go in two groups, on goes to water while the other stays on the beach and does... whatever they want, but keep an eye on the stuff. And if you're alone... her... going alone on the beach is kind of sad :p
:doubt: now I can see you reading my previous post and picturing me laughing like mad watching at my screen and saying "take that, b****!"
Come on :doubt:

I think you're kind of missing the point Nico. This thread is about the fact that people suck because they can't be trusted not to steal someones stuff when they go for a swim. In that - it's quite true. They do suck.
Whether or not icespeed should have been more cautious isn't the point. Certainly a lesson has been learned from that experience - but it doesn't alter the fact that people can be incredibly unpleasent.
-
Personally I think there should be a large increase in things like the show Swag did but with prosecutions as well as the humiliation.
For those who didn't watch it, the show Swag would do things like leaving the keys in the door of a car and wait for people to try to steal it at which point the doors would lock and foam would spray out all over them.
The best trick they would play would be to leave the door of a lorry open and when some scally jumped in to nick the stuff, they'd lock it, pull down the sides and drive him around town with the loudspeak blaring about how they'd captured a thief. One time they drove the guy around for hours and I bet he must have been sh*ting himself when he started seeing signs for Dover :D
The thing is if more people did that casual crime would vanish over night as everyone would think that a bag left unattended on the beach was too good to be true.

Ah, so can't go astray even when it's a logical link, mmh? Ok, let's celebrate on how much people suck.
We're all people, btw.
-
Oh no Nico, you can say it - but I can point out how irrelevant it is to the point being made originally. That's the joy of freedom of speech ;)
