I thought I heard somewhere that the new catalyst versions from ATI support their mobile products where the older versions did not.  Is this true?

Yes.  I forget if that was new for 5.6 for for the unreleased 5.7.  The 5.7 is supposed to include performance improvements (large apparently) for older cards of 128mb and 64mb.

Cool...though it's moot since I've installed Omega 2.6.25a
