Anyone watching it? I'm... not impressed so far. Give me the Quo any day over U2.
Whats more, who in their right mind thought Sgt. Pepper was a decent song to open with?
(I'll be commenting more on me blog at //www.Intothemaelstrom.co.uk)

I watched Richar dAshcroft sing Bittersweet symphony then turned off and switched onto me mp3s. It looks really quite dull and devoid of atmosphere.
-
I'll take a look on the tellie once Green Day gets on. I missed what happened already, due to being stuck in the tech-support waiting room getting a CPU fan replaced. (Yeah, took 90 minutes....)
-
Elton John really picked it up - 2/3 songs were really good and got the crowd going.
Now we have Dido desperately trying to prove she can sing live...
-
Well, I can only get half of the shows, due to Dutch TV doing a mix&match of all the concerts, and currently Duran Duran is on. Not something I care for, actually. I'm fighting with the AOL radio interface, trying to get music, but it only realy works when you're a subscriber, it seems. Anyone got a link for a working webcast?

Try http://www.bbc.co.uk/music/thelive8event/

When someone plays rock & roll, call me.

[color=66ff00]Muse was on in Paris but they (BBC) didn't stick around to cover it.
Gits.

-
Because the BBC are a bunch of self interested tits who don't know real what they're doing.

One Pint of Ale. Check.
TV and PC. Check.
Live8 USA. Check(ish - very soon).
G/f. Absent. Can' t win them all.

[color=66ff00]Heh, Sir Bob got Bill Gates to talk about how great it is to play fair.
Irony.

He made his first mistake when praising Blair and Brown...

[color=66ff00]Too true.
I have to admit that this doesn't have the same feeling of urgency as the original live aid, just seems like a big free concert with no strings attached. I doubt it will have any lasting effect, no doubt Bush and Blair held back on their original funding just so they could appear to bump the amount up as a result of the concerts.

Besides which, and please no flames anyone, it's not exactly in our best interests to have Africa on it's own two feet. It's a gold mine (literally!) and we'd be in real economic trouble.
-
This meake me really want to go feed the poor. :doubt:
I say, if these multi millionaires give up all they own and give it all to the poor and hungry in Africa, then maybe, I would be moved to help the poor as well. This, honetly, is a waste of money in and of its self and is just a means for these ****tard artists to get some super happy feeling that they are doing something about Africa. Sigh, I hate aristocrats. They always seem so two faced and retarded. And as for Green Day, who is the real "Amercan Idiot?"

I missed The Who? ****. I'd have watched that.

Pink. Floyd. Was. Amazing. :D
-
Highlight of one in Canada for me was Deep Purple.
Highway Star, Smoke on the Water and Hush. Awesome.
P.S> Speaking of two faced: Bet ya U2 have new album comming out soon.
-
What, you didn't like Celine Dion? For shame.
I listen a bit over the radio, nothing really too great, at least in Canada.

What'd they play? They're the only rock band I actually like.
-
Speak To Me/Breathe, Money, Comfortably Numb(yesssss), and Wish You Were Here, unless I'm much mistaken.
I <3 BT, otherwise me=not getting it.

Well, the whole thing is pretty ironic in its own way, yeah. On the other hand, some of the protests at the summit do have a legitamate goal. As for Africa damaging the western economy, I'm not all that sure, you'd have a huge market for luxury goods coming up....
