Hello all.
We're happy to inform you that we've finished the crush-test of the campaign and it is only briefing animation is remains to full complete.
This campaign is the first part of the war between Firstones alliance and the Shadows (approximatelly in 1280 a.c. by the Earth calendar).

looks interesting, and i would say, do english speech with russian accent, i dont mind this too much. most important is that you know what the actions is all about :)

I noticed that there were some Sharlins in the screenshots, but AFAIK, they weren't in service back then.

About Sharlin.
It is only one vessel in the MF fleet. The Flagship, like Colossus in the original FS2. And it's technology is not so well as it were in Earth-Minbari war. Better than T'Inashi, but.......

I personally think that if the campaign was in english it would be better to understand for many TBP fans...
The accent isn't that important as long the sound samples are clear and the pilot can understand various comms during dogfight.. :)

About Lucifer and Sathanas
As we've already marked (http://fstbp.i8.com/whats_new.html), this models are temporarily replaced by the SD LUCIFER as DK Carrier and SJ SATHANAS as DK Destroyer. There are some trobles with adapt an original Drakhs models.
Can the fans help you with the voice acting?
We shall be glad to get any additional help. How can we contact with you, tommy185 (by e-mail, for example)?

Sorry for delay, we've adapted the WDF to tbp-base 3.2 version.
All potential voice actors, you'll get WDF story line during next week. It will be contain description of the characters and their text.

Instructions.
1). Make sure that your \DATA\TABLES directory is empty.
2). Extracrt installation file from ZIP archive.
3). Run "The Minbari Project.exe"
4). Select same directory where you have the main TBP game.
!!!!!When you'll start the game, create new pilot!!!!!
Some recomendations.
1). Remember, this campaign can be completed at any skill level.
2). Do not ask itself - how many enemy units are in battle area and when it will end; just carry on briefing objectives.
3). Pay attention at escort list, DIRECTIVES AND MESSEGES.
4). I'm sure that all of you are best pilots, so, I'm recomend to start it campaign with MEDIUM level.

my craft is not visible, I cannot move or attack- sit and watch is the only thing my craft is capable of...:wtf:
Even the end mission warp out doesn't work :eek2: :confused:

I do have one question the mission after you fly into hyperspace next to the drak mothership in the whitestar, Where is the other cruser? I am up to 800 kill count and I can still not find the other cruizer??

Well...What version of tbp-base do you have? It must be 3.2 version.
Where is the other cruser?
Is it absent even in escort list?

The first drah cruzier is easy to find it is streight ahead in hyperpspace. When i go through all targets I do not see the other Drach cruizer. I flew in many direction for some time. I am using 3.2.

It appears i have the same problem..Part 4 is just flying next to a cruzier before the supernova, there is no other options, I still can only see one cruzie in part 5

I'm using TBP 3.2
I've created a new pilot
unistalled 3d shockwaves and the newer
game executable 2005 08 28 before I installed "When the darkness falls"...
so I thought everything should be ok....
the first mission when you have to destroy the 5 waves of enemy fighters works perfectly....
the second one with the red alert screen
loads correctly but during the mission my craft "doesn't exist" I can't see it nor fly, shoot target warp out and so on...:wtf:
EDIT: and my craft isn't visible in the wings/ ships menu below the comm menu...:sigh:
Any ideas what may cause that?:confused:

Try to background it the mission. That helps. :p

Aipz, are you sure you have no other tables in the table folder?
I had a similar problem once, that was caused by having wrong tbl files in there.

I've deleted everything from that folder prior to installation of When the Darkness Falls...
I'll try to uninstall and install the Base again...
I've installed many missions and other things lately so maybe that's the case here...:confused:

Worked - too many new things were installed previously and something must have stayed although my best intents...

I noticed what I believe is a bug.
Everytime when there is a Red Alert start (don't know if red alert is the correct thing - when missions are linked like the last 2 of the FS2 campaign) the status of the ships isn't carried over.
Instead I start out with 21% (the mission where you have to scan the shadow Tinashi) or 17% (where you take down the bases of the NMF) hull integrity, no matter how the ship was at the end of the mission before.
And it isn't really fun when you can only survive 5 hits and don't even survive one missile.
And half the times I dyed from friendly fire, because of the large area of effect the missiles have.
Edit:
I encountered a "slight" problem in the mission where you first encounter the Drakh (12 I think). Apart from the fact that you start with 5% hull (which I kind of corrected for me by setting it to 100% 1 sec after misison start) the mission is still impossible.
No matter what I do I can't survive it even on the lowest difficult setting.
The beams of the Drakh Raider kill me with 3 hits.
I suspect that the Drakh weapons are still at the original TBP damage output, which you really should lower. After all the Drakh where most likely not sitting on their hands and improved their tech as much as the minbari, so it doesn't make sense that the drakh are so much more powerfull than the minbari.
And maybe you could write on your website near the download link when it was uploaded. If I understood you right this isn't the final release and is still updated. That way people could see if what they have on their drive is the latest version.

A word of caution to those thinking of installing this campaign. When Darkness Falls makes extensive changes to your Babylon Project installation which may make it incompatible with other campaigns.
To restore compatability should this happen uninstall all your TBP campaigns and the TBP base itself. Check with Windows Explorer to ensure that all the files are gone! Then do a complete reinstall of TBP.

There's a (in my opinion) better way.
Before installing the campaign rename your data folder into something else, then install it (e.g. data_1)
Now make a new folder named Darness_falls or whatever you like and move the new data folder and the B4-FAsW.VP file into it.
At last rename your data_1 back to data.
Now you can easily switch the mod on and off in the launcher without installing, moving or deleting any files.

Oh, a TBP Campaign, i don't see this before...
Maybe it's a Problem only to me, but when i click on the Downloadlink, http://fstbp.rbcmail.ru/The_Minbari_Project.zip, i get a Site with "Document not found!", i try to Download this with "Save target as...", too, but there is only a corrupted ZIP File on my HDD, i can't open it with WinZIP/RAR/ACE :(

All right. The path is ready and avalible here (http://fstbp.i8.com) at the downloads section.
As I've already sad make sure that your \DATA\TABLES directory is empty, also, if you have the "HUD, INTERFACE, MODELS, MAPS, VOICES, EFFECTS" folders in the "DATA" directory remove it too.
The RED ALERT missions is not like in the original FS2 campaign, there are not enough time for full briefing in some ingame situations...So it is short-briefing missions and only in five operations "RED ALERT STATUS" will influence on the hull integrity.
Possible problems:
1). Mission 3. If auto-pilot will work incorrect press twice "Alt+A" (default combination).
2). All cutscens were created using FRED and unfortunately it have some influence at quality. Besides, all this version of fs2_open does not recognize "FRED -> cutscenes" operators, so there will not be any camera rotations e.t.c.
Next actions were done at several our computers (after removing TBP Base3.2) :
1). Installed TBP Base 3.2
2). Installed WDF
3). Campaign were checked out at all skill levels (including INSANE).
Result: there were not detected any problems except listed.
Updates.
1). NMF Shadow Tinashi updated
2). VE Destroyer updated
3). MF Space Station updated

4). Eleven ingame bugs fixed

Awesome mod. I haven't played Freespace or the Babylon Project in over a year. However I downloaded this campaign and it has been loads of fun. I recommend that everyone try it out. I took a few screenshots to show some of the action:

The file that you have up for download doesn't seem to be working. I downloaded it multiple times and Windows would not open it, saying that it wasn't a valid windows32 file.

Well I tried downloading the file again today, and it worked this time. Got the installer, installed the campaign, Started playing it, everything's working fine until I try to fire upon enemy ships and I realize I've got no weapons. I restart the mission, go weapons loadout and discover that none of my wing have any weapons. I can move about just fine, only no weapons exist. Any suggestions?

Sounds like a team loadout error in the campaign file to me.

This MOD has some own DATA adjustments. Make sure that your \DATA\TABLES directory is empty, also, if you have the "HUD, INTERFACE, MODELS, MAPS, VOICES, EFFECTS" folders in the "DATA" directory clear it too. Then reinstall the MOD.
P.S. Try next: place installation file into your B5 directory and run the file. Do not change installation path, just click "INSTALL" key.
Ohh, and one more thing - Will you create new pilot before you start campaign?

Alright, problem solved. Here's what I did, in case this happens again.
1. Removed the WDF components I'd installed.
2. Renamed my original data file to data_1.
3. Moved the installer into the TBP folder and installed it directly there.
Interesting, though. When I first played it, I was getting camera rotations on the cut scenes, although they were very odd looking and skipped around, as if a very shaky hand was holding the camera. Also, the station was absent originally. However, now everything works fine. Thanks for the help.

So, I'm fairly certain this is a user error, but I just haven't been able to get anywhere with it. In the mission where you have to destroy the NMF bases at 4th Orbit, some very stange things happen. First of all, after playing the mission several times, I notived that at some point, I become invulnerable. Also, there seemed to be an infinite number of fighters that would keep appearing as long as I was destroying them. I finally gave up at 57 kills and decided to head to the bases to see if I could take them out, since no one else seemed to be doing it. The bombers had quickly taken out the weapons system on complex 2 and 3, but I never noticed any of my cruisers jump in. So, at this point, the complexes are at anywhere from 98% to 100% health. I pick one and start blasting away at it. I empty my railgun, my missles, and am blasting away with both my light and heavy guns and it's hardly making a dent. It took several minutes of this to reduce the health by 2 or 3 %. Also, while I'm doing this, I'm able to ignore the bases and fighters that are just blasting the heck out of me, because I'm invulnerable.
So, like I said, this is probably a user error, but the mission parameters seemed really odd to me. Perhaps there is something I must do to call in my cruisers?

I had that same problem. I finally called in the cruisers and they eliminated the bases quickly. Just make sure the bombers have disabled the base's weapons or they'll make short work of the cruisers. Oh and I'll try to post some full rez screenshots tomorrow.

Cavane, you have to call for reinforcements to get the cruisers to come in the way you would any other time, pushing C for the comm menu and then 4 for reinforcements. Psychic, the white beams are the Tinashi's main battery, I guess it's an older weapon that was replaced sometime down the road.

In this MOD the Sharlin is sole vessel - the flagship of the United Clans Forces (UCF). Like the GTVA Colossus in the original FS2 campaign, and it has another arms...

Well, you've got the presence of the Sharlin somewhat covered, but why is there a Whitestar in one of those shots? If this campaign takes place during the Shadow war 1000 years ago, why is one of those modern warships present? Time travel?

I can explain it.
MVG Grey Star is only similar to ISA White Star. It has another arms; it has smaller maneuverability and speed...
There will be another model instead of this in the "Shadows upcoming" campaign - second part of the First Ones Alliance - Shadows war.

Wow you've got an answer for everything. You guys need different geometry for this "Grey Star" though since the White Star you have at the moment just looks like a... erm... White Star.
