But she's my own at least. Still a WIP, have to do the rear/bridge properly, but wanted to show off the new primary turrets (ignore the small little ones, those are hte bog-standard DoGA ones) and the general design of the new ship :)

Again with the FPS counters! FIEND!

lol ngtm1r (What does that stand for anyway? :p )
Nice work-sy's Singh. ;)

ngtm1r

Nightmare
It's the model number for the first BattleMech I made with the custom design rules from BattleTech. Standard n00b walking PPC battery o' doom.
-
LoL.
Get Singh to make it for you. :p
Then put the frame rate counter in...
:nervous:

Improve on the front side.
Otherwise, it's excellent.

Is this that one that's your avatar on SB?

No, my dear friend, that would be this:

Topace: Thanks. I'm trying to re-do the front, but hte lack of appropriate parts makes it sorta difficult.

Progress on the bridge section is approaching completion. The total number of turrets is currently less than what I expect - its just that I have to make proper multi-part turrets, and then put those on. The final size of the turrets will be smaller as well, to give a proper sense of scale.

neat, but 18 fps, w/o maps? I assume it's just for fun, and not actually meant for FS2?
I like the design, just seems the mesh on the sides of the big turrets is quite messy.
-
When you take a screenshot, the FRP value ribly drops down. That's the reason.
-
In case you two haven't been paying attention those aren't ingame pics. Singh's simply using pics he's taken in FS2 as the background :)
-
The font, the size, position and the colour of the FPS reminded me FreeSpace.

It is the Freespace FPS counter so it should remind you of the Freespace FPS counter :p
-
The barrels look a little plain. How about some muzzle breaks or somethin' ?
Those are some pretty damn good baclgrounds too.
-
*notes to self to change background render to non-screenshot picture
Roanoke: Muzzle breaks?
-
Anyways, the rear is complete. I'll begin texturing the body, before I begin work in making the multi-part turrets and then turreting the entire thing :)

Looks like it'd be pretty stuffed should anything come up from below it...
-
I assume it can bank, like, huh, spaceships can bank.
It's too flat for my taste, tho.

I know, I know....I'm working on making the bottom a little less flat, and maybe putting a turret or two underneath.
Texturing is complete though, so that's a plus :)
-
Ok, she's textured now, and I've added some stuff to the bottom to make it less flat.

Check your engines, btw, looks like you have doublons on the top exhausts.
-
Woah!
Nice stuff.
That's a lotta guns. :D

Hmm....noted. Looks like a mesh error - will have to correct it a bit (I assume you mean the little bit that's sticking out from the nozzle, right?)
Grug: Thanks. :D
-
I take it you like battleships, Singh?
Nice - but learn Max so we can have these things in-game. ;)

What can I say except hell yes. I've always wanted to build model ships, just never got the oppurtunity to really do so. But with DoGA, I can actually play with them now without fear of breaking expensive plastic parts and weeks of work :D
Learn Max? NEVER!
*Hugs DoGA CGA
-
That's pretty goddamn cool.
-
*Will have to write a free DoGa like proggy that can export to FS2. :p

on each engine pod, there's 4 brown exhausts (well 5 because of the one that should not be there). The top ones, it's obvious there's 2 when there should be only one
-
How long are these taking you to make... =o
-
ermm...mostly just a few hours, depending on the complexity. The mongrel (see other thread) only took me 2 hours to complete. It also depends on if you have a clear concept in mind, in which case completing it within an hour is not difficult.
-
Hmmm, I guess I underestimated how fluid you are with DOGA by now... :)
I wonder how long it took turnsky to make his stuff considering he's new to DoGA...
