Title: "Classic" User-made campaigns? Which to pick
Post by: SadbutTrue on July 07, 2005, 12:18:30 am
Alright, I've installed the SCP and have had some success with it (more questions on that in a minute).  I want to try some of the better user-created campaigns now.  What are 3 or so that I should get?  I particularly like the voiceacting in FS2, so one that is voiceacted would be a plus.  I'd also like to take advantage of all the junk i downloaded, so a mission that either has some pretty demanding battles and/or uses a lot of SCP would be nice.  I'll also need to know what (if anything) to download and add to the media.vp pack i already downloaded.

Thanks.

1. Aeos Affair/Aeos Affair X - No difference only a X behind the name (?)
2. Derelict
3. Warzone
4. Homesick
5. Sync

All without Voice, atm... but there is a Voiceacting in Progress for Derelict, look this forum ;)

The Babylon Project has a voiceacted campaign (R1), although it's only based on the FS2_Open engine and is pretty much a standalone mod.

Also try Sync, that's yet the best campaign I have played.

Unfortunately, there are very few voice-acted campaigns around, I know of Boomerang, which I have not played and maybe the Lightning Marshall has voices.

Honestly, people, we've just had two or three different threads about this recently.

If only there were some kind of system, that would let you have links to downloads, with some kind of short description, and let you rate those downloads so that other users would know which were "hot" and which were not. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/hlp/category_show.php?cat=17)

Alas, no such system exists with a category for campaigns and/or mods. :p

Something like this (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/hlp/category_show.php?cat=25) or this (http://hades-combine.com/web/index.php?ind=downloads&op=section_view&idev=1) perhaps?

But alas WMC did not look hard enough, as the mystical bunnies who wear the large amounts of grass on their heads smoked with the lolipop king during their lunch hour, which was only 43 minutes long. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/hlp/category_show_idal.php?cat=67)

Ahh, I remembered the campaign list as not having the ratings list. Would be nice if they were sorted somehow (at least by completed/not completed. So would a download link on the description itself. :p

I would be glad if people rated those campaigns.

I rated Derelict - but Sync isn't on the list. :p
