What program is necessary to see contents font01.vf or to unpack it.

After a quick browse in google, I get the impression that you should be able to just drop it in the font directory or whatever management program you use and it should work...

I thought there was a Volition tool for creating these files?

Part of a toolkit for Red Faction, another :v: game from about the same time period as most of the FS development.  The download works, and I'll bet the format is the same.  Or at least it's worth a try.
