Post by: FireCrack on July 12, 2005, 06:16:33 pm
Recently i got this error when starting my computer, i thaught it was just a small random error so i fixed it and restarted my computer, the next day it did it again, now, may i ask...

...Is this indicative of impending hard drive failure?

If I were you I'd consider backing up, and grabbing a copy of a diagnostic tool from whoever made the drive.

I've seen this problem before. No, your hard drive isn't dieing, and I know how to fix it.

First, you need to boot to the recovery console, and then run a recovery. this is a TEMPORARY fix.

Next, boot to Safe Mode. Now go and install Service Pack 1. Reboot when it is finished and there you go.

Yes. The only time I have ever seen this problem is on Windows XP computers that do not have SP1 on them.
