Title: Futurama!
Post by: Mefustae on July 18, 2005, 02:27:55 am
A Futurama Movie?!? (http://dvd.ign.com/articles/634/634262p1.html)

Yep, it seems that this is the first step towards Futurama returning to the airwaves, and about time too...!

There was a Family Guy movie!? :wtf:

As happy as I am to see more Futurama, I sort of wish there'd be more original series rather than more continuations of old ones.

No. Hooray for ignorant reporters.

As for any Futurama movie... I'll believe it when I see it. I'm still waiting for the Tick movie, dammit.

While we're at it, I'm still waiting for some kind soul to ressurect Duckman, damnit. Though a Futurama movie would definitely be cool.

Direct-to-Video

 :hopping:  :hopping:  :hopping:  :hopping:

IT'S NOT A REAL MOVIE! IT'S JUST A FREAKING VIDEO!

It's about as significant is "Futurama: The Coloring Book"

Like, for example, Roots?

So? Your complaint seems to be that it's not a theatrical release. To which I say, WHO CARES? More Futurama is more Futurama.

A direct-to-video release means that it will be low budget uninspired crap meant to make a quick buck.

A cinema release however would draw new audiences. A mini series or direct to DVD feature would only be watched by the fans. Fans who in case you've forgotten weren't large enough in numbers to stop it getting cancelled the first time round.

New episodes are nice but a movie might mean a new series.

So you're saying it would be given the budget and talent of, say... a television show?
