Title: Follow the yellow brick road...

I'm going to be gone for two weeks. My father-in-law is in the hospital and may not live long.

This means I've just forked over two months salary on emergency plane tickets to Oz. We fly Wednesday some time.

The only upshot to this is that we get to have a good look, in person, at the house we just bid on in Seaton, Adelaide, Australia. For you Aussies, the house in question is here-ish (http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=-34.862194,138.480778&spn=0.028824,0.040525&t=k&hl=en).

I'll let you guys know how everything goes.

I am actually moving, just not yet. We were going slow, finding the house, getting the mortgage, shipping our lives piece by piece.

With this, we might not be able to get the house and this trip is going to totally screw up the finances (it effectively cuts my pay in half for two weeks, a serious loss). And the worst part, my father in law is... not well. We're not really sure what all is going on, but I suppose I'll find out friday morning when I land.  The worst part is waiting to get on the damn plane tomorrow. I wish we could have flown today.

Sorry to hear about your father-in-law. I hope everything will be fine. And that kind of waiting is always the worst.
