Title: Fred Degrades?

I've noticed that since playing around with Fred, with each crash, it has become increasingly unstable, to the point now that adding two ships, any ships, will cause it to die within 20 or so seconds, saving crashes it, as does loading up a mission that previously was ok.

The first crash I encountered was in attempting to add a GOD satalite to something I was working on... I thought it was a fluke, 4 successive attempts to add it disproved that notion...

So where can I pick up an undegraded version of Fred? Since it seems when it crashes it corrupts itself.

Pick something randomly, if you find something relatively stable. don't give up on it lightly.

This one crashes too, but it's not too often, and it is doesn't corrupt itself from what I've seen so far.

Be warned. FRED remembers your settings. So for example, you choose to display textured ship models and backgrounds (which will crash FRED with certain ships) and then reload FRED, the settings to display textured ship models and backgrounds which crashed FRED the last time will still be turned on.

Thanks for the help, I'm downloading the version pointed to by Raapys for now, and I'll give that one a go in a few minutes :)

Been testing out the Fred out, and so far so good, now I'm going to the fred academy to learn the dark arts.

I have an idea for a (mini) campaign, though until I'm sure my skills are up to the test, I won't say more about it ;)
