Title: Eep.
Post by: aldo_14 on July 20, 2005, 02:42:50 pm
I have a stressful week up ahead.... aptitude test tomorrow, and then a 4 hour long test+10 min presentation+interview+'personality questionaire' for another job.  And then a driving test the Friday after.

So don't be surprised if I explode with all the stress (or, as is more likely, get a bit narky).

:sigh:

All that for one job?

Nope, 2.  One of which I don't even want.

EDIT; if someone can give me a good way to 'conclude' a 10 min presentation on Hierarchical Agglomerative Clustering, I'm all ears.

I think it's something like 40% comes from French, although that might just be ones for which they share roots or it might be counting cognates (not the exact word).

"...if you have any questions, you can keep them to yourself, I'm going home for some earned rest and you get paid too much for doing nothing anyway."

How's that?

http://careers.amazondc.com/index.html

This is the one with the pain-in-the-arse recruitment process I mentioned.

The rest of the stuff I've applied for has been via recruitment agencies; Elan IT, abrecco, etc (I tend to get 'offered' them by these lot in the sense of applying; mostly they're ****e or in London).

Um... try http://www.idoxplc.com/iii/index.htm (http://www.str.prospects.ac.uk/casa/servlet/casa.jobseeker.JSVacServlet?mode=showVac&CASA_object_id=SUBOSTR-08072005-VACY-17173&search_level=A&vacancy_class=G&any_subject_f=Y&frmToWcodes=AGC-M:UCS-M&frmToWcodes=AGC-V:UCS-V&frmToWcodes=AGC-W:UCS-W&frmLocsSelCodes=SCOT1&frmLocsSelCodes=SCOT2&frmLocsSelCodes=SCOT3&employer_name_contains=&ticket=4602F7E8-9BAF-4CFC-AEAC-1377F466E422&from=1&total=20&curr_pos=1&last_pos=20 if you can reggy), mclaren (http://www.mclarensoftware.com/ / http://www.str.prospects.ac.uk/casa/servlet/casa.jobseeker.JSVacServlet?mode=showVac&CASA_object_id=SUBOSTR-13062005-VACY-16869&search_level=A&vacancy_class=G&any_subject_f=Y&frmToWcodes=AGC-M:UCS-M&frmToWcodes=AGC-V:UCS-V&frmToWcodes=AGC-W:UCS-W&frmLocsSelCodes=SCOT1&frmLocsSelCodes=SCOT2&frmLocsSelCodes=SCOT3&employer_name_contains=&ticket=4602F7E8-9BAF-4CFC-AEAC-1377F466E422&from=1&total=20&curr_pos=17&last_pos=20), or marconi (http://www.str.prospects.ac.uk/casa/servlet/casa.jobseeker.JSVacServlet?mode=showVac&CASA_object_id=SUBOSTR-17062005-VACY-16953&search_level=A&vacancy_class=G&any_subject_f=Y&frmToWcodes=AGC-M:UCS-M&frmToWcodes=AGC-V:UCS-V&frmToWcodes=AGC-W:UCS-W&frmLocsSelCodes=SCOT1&frmLocsSelCodes=SCOT2&frmLocsSelCodes=SCOT3&employer_name_contains=&ticket=4602F7E8-9BAF-4CFC-AEAC-1377F466E422&from=1&total=20&curr_pos=14&last_pos=20)

You could also have a stab at vianet; http://www.vianet.co.uk/ I had a couple of interviews there but pulled out because it was too far away (Dunfermline) to commute.  There's a very slim chance they'd have something.

I've just worked my first, and hopefully close to my last, four days in a factory. Damnit, it's robot work; hard and boring.

I think I have stress - my neck is stiff and the pain spreads round into my face, jaw and teeth several times each day....I have been virtually living on Ibuprufen for the last month, the doctor said I need physiotherapy, but the waiting time is so long that the problem would have have gone away by the time I got an appointment - which doesn't ****ing well help me much right now, does it!?!

My assistant CAD operator just pissed off to America for ever, just in the middle of the biggest contract we have ever handled, and I have to start training a new temporary guy on Monday.

Stuff makes me angry..

Just, anything, the printer not working, slow drivers on the way into work, the weather, anything...

OK, my headache is coming back now, I'm out of here...

And they wonder why I work for myself. ;)

www.jobsite.co.uk seems to be a good place to pop your CV on, as well.

I worked for myself from July-this April.  I got a bit sick of it, though; it's hard to be entirely happy working on your own (most of the time) and on short (~15 week) contracts.

Me? I wouldn't say no since I can't remember (tho I doubt it, don't remember me talking about the great joy of working in hotels or factories), but at least I surely didn't get rude to you for no reason if I actually posted about it ;)
