Nice video.

It's a "Silent Threat: Reborn" mission, but what's mysterious ? The classified research on the Vasudan cruiser ?

[insert random speculation about Vasudan headz collection research here]

Thanks. :)

The mission is called "More Than Meets the Eye", so naturally there's more to that mission than meets the eye. ;) And it's not limited to the Vasudan research convoy either.

Would you rather I keep everything a secret until ST:R is finally released? :p

Ooh, classified.  Those intelligence types never reveal any of the good stuff. :p Looks like a lot of friendly targets in the area, although I wasn't able to tell exactly what they were; would those be the cargo containers the pilots are referring to?

P.S. As a side note, and forgive my FREDding ignorance, but is there any way to replace the wingman personae in a particular mission?  One of the few things that I disliked about the FSPort was that the FS2 wingmen's voices were used instead of those from FS1.  If there was any feasible way to change them back, it would make the experience almost identical to playing FS1 again. :)

Those are the freighters and the cruiser.

You'd have to replace messages.tbl with the one from FS1 and copy over all the persona messages.

awesome video.  I'd like to note however that the Prometheus S is far more powerful than the Prometheus you use in FS1.  Also the trails on the Hornet use MissileTrail03 in FS1 as opposed to newmiss3.

Yeah, we're taking that under consideration for the Port v3.0.

Maybe the Vasudans are working on Transformers. Because they're More than Meets the Eye.

You need the DivX codec.

Oh c'mon, registering a GameSpy ID takes about 1minute of your life. Isn't a cool ST video worth that ? ;)

Maybe I'll upload it to my webspace, when I get home.

I have a question. Does the release of this video mean that ST:R will be released soon?

/me can't wait until it is released.......

/me hopes the ST:R won't use FSO, or at least will have a retail version strapped onto it.

Principal FREDding is nearly done.  Beta-testing has been going on for years (quite literally) so the missions are very nicely polished.  I'm quite certain that FREDding will be done by this fall.

ST:R was written specifically for retail.  It has some interesting and crazy FREDding tricks that would have been easier in FSO, but it all works under retail. :)

So when the FREDing is finished, then the campaign will be released?

No.  As we've said before, we still need to do the voice acting.

[whine]why can't someone just port the FS1 Prometheus?  I liked it better than the R and the S anyway, and theres a big difference between the S and the Original.[/whine]

The Convoy is carrying Shivan Super Laser components to the Pinnacle to be mounted on the Hades.  GTI is using the Vasudans to throw GTA command off track

I liked the video.  Got my interest, anyway.
You want audition tapes in MP3 format?  If I could help this project move along, I will.

And thanks, Kosh, for the opening vid to FS1.

been thinking about it lately.

If I could voice act decently, I would gladly help out...

I almost forgot about this: Goober, are there any lines in particular that you'd like to have for an audition?  Or should I just make something up? :p

Make something up for now.  Stuff Command would say; stuff wingmen would say.  You can even read lines from existing campaigns if you want. :)

hey, nuclear, maybe some of the stuff in ST:R can be used in GTI. ;7

The storyline we've got set up *points to internal* calls for something else, probably entirely different from the ideas that Goober and the Port team have. GTI was intended to be a completely original project as well, and I'm trying to limit as much as I can from borrowing goodies from other campaigns.

Now, back on the subject of ST: R.

It's obvious that the cruiser has "something" that involves the Hades.  Supplies, beams, "shivan technology" ;)

Ach, damnation. I just followed the "latest post" link on the FreeSpace Conversion page, instead of venturing to the ST:R subforum. Didn't notice/remember that these "mystery" things were stickied. Um, carry on.
