A shoot-'em-up. One of those button-mashing arcadey games where you shoot baddies with your spaceship/jet/whatever.

ABA Games is awesome. I didn't really like Tumiki Fighters though (at least not as much as the others) - I prefer Gunroar.

While we're on the topic, everyone should play Cave Story (http://agtp.romhack.net/doukutsu.html). Not quite a shoot-'em-up, it's more of a platformer... but it's one of the best freeware games I've seen.
