Some reports say seven explosions, four of them car bombs.
EDIT: Title updated.

 bastards!

Pretty much sums up my feelings on the matter. The Egyptian government clamped down hard or islamic fundementalists last time this sort of **** went on.
Now that they can't run and hide in europe they'll probably get rounded up much faster.
-
Latest tally is 83 dead.... my neighbours daughter was there, but was across the bay away from the blasts.
There's not really much you can say that can convey how ****ing horrible this is, and the people behind it are.

Isn't this the same place that got attacked about ayear ago? Seems to be a popular target.
-
It was Taba that was attacked, but both are on the Sinai penninsula. I'm not sure how close they are to each other.
-
Taba is at the top pf the Gulf of Aqaba, Sharm is at the southern tip of the peninsula.

Brilliant. Bomb your nations most important source of income. That'll help.
-
What's next? An Asian target? How many countries do Al-Quaida want to turn against them? Evelen days after the London attacks. The next bombs will explode nine days after today.
Don't see what I mean? From 9/11, we have 11, next will be the 9. The Madrid explosions occured 911 days after World Trade Center.

The primary fight of the Islamists has always been against other Muslim governments, and Egypt was always, so far as I know, Public Enemy #1. Remember, Ayman Zawahari spent time in jail for assasination of Sadat. So far as I can figure, the fight against the West is only because they are seen as the supporters and enablers of Muslim governments which are considered undesireable (Saudi, Egypt and so on; and also Israel, but that's different).

That's a good point. Especially considering that in Xinjiang province, there are muslim minorities in that area.

The aim of Islamic fundamentalist terrorism is to spark an Islamic revolution in the Arab world; so the targets they pick are visible 'enemies' which can be used to mobilise would-be extremists. So the Western world is a target for multiple reasons; being predominately Christian and the history of the Crusades, support for Israel, general foreign policy (such as British colonialism in the days of the empire, or perceived US interference by supporting repressive but friendly to them regimes such as the Saudis), and so on.
Essentially it's a case of creating an enemy to mobilise support; and then 'attacking' it to encourage tacit support to become action. By creating this enemy of the Western crusaders, etc, fundamentalists aim to pose their brand of extremism as the best defence.
This tactic, of course, is used across the world - in different flavours - for any sort of government. Find a threat - real or imagined - and then attack it (to gain support by showing your strength and acting as 'protector' of the group you wish to influence).

BWAHAHAHAHA!!!! :wakka: (http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=JPost/JPArticle/ShowFull&cid=1122085380681)

How exactly is that news? The most popular conspiracy theory in the muslim world is that Israel conspired to cause the Sept 11 attacks.
-
That's..... pathetic.
Random and meaningless piece of trivia: Me and Kosh have Identical Pastcounts.[/color]
-
I agree it is pretty pathetic.

Egypt was saying that the London bombings were a 'hoax' and never really happened...
-
That's retarded. Got a link?

-

The Nile indeed runs through that country...
@Black Wolf: Yes it's brilliant (from their point of view): tourims generates money for the government which these fanatics are trying to bring down: thus less tourism -> less money for government -> weaker government. always remember that the ultimate goal of these nutters is to (re)create an islamic state from Morocco to Indonesia. Imagine that state run like the Taleban ran Afghanistan. It'll make Stalin's USSR positively look like paradise on Earth.
