I'm just finishing the 4th(?) mission where the EA midwinter cruiser got destroyed by the Minbar cruiser.

I get the red text "downloading new order, but then I CTD

i have also a problem with this mission, the game crashed everytime when i want to start this mission in the campaign mode
when i play it trough the tech data option it runs normally til the moment when i see the "downloading new mission objects" then it´s over because my ship is defeated

yeah it happened to me too. thought it was a hardware problem at my end , till someone mentioned it

CTD happened to me as well tried newer builds no luck

The proplems is simple. Open the last mission, then open the mission specs. There but briefing on, NOT off. That will work.

I've also experienced such problems earlier...
Prophet forgot to simply put any briefing text for the 5th mission - it will always CTD, no matter what...:doubt:

SOLUTION: Edit the briefing text in 5th mission (put any words there) and you should procede to last mission without any troubles :)

Yeah, that was my bad, sorry. :sigh:

You see it was just supposed to be a blackout for Weisman. At first the briefing was something like "You slowly regain consciousness". But just before release I discovered the No Briefing tag and figured that it will do nicely. And obiously I figured there would be no need for any briefing text.
I thought I tested the mission before I released it, but obiously I didn't...
Never trust SCP stuff before testing it x 10

As previously stated, it's simple to fix: Just add some text to the briefing and it shouold work.


I plan to release the updated version of this first chapter same time I release chapter 2. So If you have any other bug reports, mission directives, weird objectives, spelling errors and so on to report, then now is the time. I also accept all general *****ing about the campaing...

when did you plan to release the second chapter?

Before the end of this summer hopefully. If I have time and I manage to get myself in to a sufficent FREDding spree, it would be completed in a matter of days since it's almost finished.

Exept if the TBP team unveils another new release and I have to balance the damn thing again. :wtf:
