Would there be any interest to move beam weapon miss factors to ai.tbl? Make the miss factor lines in weapons.tbl optional and override the ones in ai.tbl should it be present in weapons.tbl.
So in short, any class of AI would be as good (or bad) with pulses and beams.

Or have an optional extra field for each AI class that is Beam Accuracy. A multiplier which modifies the weapons.tbl miss factor if it is present.
