As the turbines of an old GTVA Herc II wind down, the cockpit opens and an pilot wearing an old Homs uniform stands up from the controls. He removes the heavy helmet. The gray and still long hair defines a character that most pilots of the days-gone-by recognised at first sight.
-So, what does an old timer like me have to do to get a drink around here? :D
Hi everyone, I felt nostalgic today so after killing a few Shivans I looked for whatever still stands of the FS2 community and here I am.
I need to be briefed on the latest technological advancements of this still amazing past time and if anyone still fly those old ships.
Sure as hell, I seem to be still in good form, judging by my last perfomances today.
PXO is no more, for what I gathered. Sad really, but expected. Especially after a few years...
Well, I hope someone remembers the ol Coug! If not, maybe they should find out. heheh ;) just kidding.
Osiris still stands but these days is more of a museum of the old Homs than anything also. Still, there are pics and stuff from FS2 and our great squads. My email has changed so I better update my profile here.
I hope everyone is well...
Stay chilled,

Can't say I remember you but someone had to do it :p
-
Yep, don't remember you, but if you've got a 2001 date, I guess I should bow down. ;)
Welcome back!
-
I suggest you check out the SCP forum or the celebration of freespace thread very quickly. I doubt you'll recognise the game you're used to :)
-
wow! I wonder how the game would look like now...
and there is a server that functions like pxo I guess.
How about new models and ships? I have a few I made a while back, like the f440 as a replacement to the old Herc II.

What're the wings for?? ;)
-
I wonder the same thing about the Perseus and the Valkyrie. I assume that the fleet wants some of its fighters to be capable of atmospheric flight.
-
Why am I the first to say that those ships kick neck?

-
Way cool, they're even endowed with the great HAF insignia. Those were the good ol' days...
-
Heh. I wonder if I'll remember you, if/when you start posting more.....
-
Find the model if you still have it. FS2_Open might be able to run with them in-game :D
-
Ulala!!! Now there's a senior Officer of the HAF North American wing. Good to see you son.
eheh... this might bring back memories of the good ol days.

amazingly enough I have cancelled that particular ISP about 4 years ago, but it seems the HOMS site still stands, go figure...

Raa, I remember your name and sure enough in a few posts you'll remember mine, and don't worry dude, it's all good! :D
Ford prefect, your assumption of athmospheric flight is actually correct. The F 440 was designed that way for re-entry to earth or I should call it "earthsustain" or ess 7000 as the only home of the HOMS.
Here's another image which might bring back memories OSIRIS and the Homs Herc Mark III as designed by yours truly 4 years ago. and... No wings there!

Maeglamor thank you for the comment, yeah they still do kick necks!
I'm looking for the "low pol" models on cd's I made back up a few years back. I hope to find them.. :(
to get on-line and start playing the new FS2 what do I need? apart from the original game installed on my HD?
stay chilled!

Just go here and follow the instructions. Except follow the link to the recent builds section instead of getting version 3.6 of the executable.
And that Hurc III is... well, let's just say it looks like an intercepter's delight. >_>

Uhh, nevermind Fenrir beat me by a few seconds.
BTW, Awesome models.
