Not only that it appears to be a Communist School in China.

heh, I got the same thing last week.
-
The Commies are trying to shut down eBay and steal all of our money!!!11122 :nervous:
-
****ing Chinese.
-
That's... odd...
I've never gotten a phishing email, just one email supposedly from Microsoft with an .exe in it, along with the message
"Dear friend , use this Internet Explorer patch now!
There are dangerous virus in the Internet now!
More than 500.000 already infected!"
Needless to say, that email quickly found it's way to the bin.
-
I've been getting huge numbers of Paypal and eBay security warnings in my University email inbox. The funniest thing is, I know that neither company actually has that address.
Some stereotypical 419s seem to turn up occasionally too. Anyone who falls for this junk is too stupid to own a computer. Or even use one.
-
thats why you should block emails from everyone that is not in your contact list. what bugs mee is these new viruses that spread through instant messaging programs that pose as your friends. also you should join hacem (humans against chain e-mail), its an organization/cult im currently forming.

you're saying it wasn't from microsoft?!?

:p
Some little voice in my head (don't we all have them? :nervous: ) told me that MS usually don't send their patches over email so...

:wtf:
That's all very well, but since I am at University I frequently get IMPORTANT emails from people not on my contact list. Blocking them would cause major problems.

As opposed to animals against chain e-mail? :D
Pffft... My friends know damn well that if they send any junk on to me they simply get blocked for a month. Anyone else who does it just gets their address added to my 'sell to spamlists' file.
-
Nuke: If the government don't stop increasing levels of spam can we go Waco on their asses?
-
I get all kinds of mass mail and newsletters from my university email address, but they fortunately come from the same ten or so sources most of the time, so I can just block those out. The university crime alert emails from the police chief that show up more or less daily are fun to read though. There are occasionally some important course-specific emails in there too, so I still have to make this address auto-forward to my main one.
