If you all remember Dreadfaq's "Play as Shivans" MOD, i'm currently making icons for the shivan ships, and i need to know what the size of the icons should be (including the green area. ;))

Uhm... you could easily take a look into the FS2 VPs.

Just look which icon size was used there. ;)
