First off, was this ever made? The thing on the right.
If not, why not? Too complex? Too hard to balance? It's by far one of the best designs the concept art has to offer, and you should KNOW what it's related to on the FS family tree.
So...
?
-
i wouldn't know. a lot of ships have been made.
-
'Tis the GTB Jotun. Used in Inferno. Made by Nico I believe.
-
Oh no.
Damn.
Well, another one bites the dust I guess.
-
Ya. I actually modded it to be more to scale with the other bombers, here (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,27387.0.html)'s the link.
The attachment's shriveled up and died, though... :(
the original model's by Woo, if I remember, though I'm not positive.
-
I still have a copy of the "Less Ridiculous Jotun" somewhere; I could put it up if anyone wants it...
-
I plan on making this once I'm done with the Battleship.;)

I'm just curious to see how it's less ridiculous.
-
Man, that cain/lilith looks aweome!
-
cain/lilith/lucifer/spider/lobster
-
I think the word you're looking for is Shivan

It's smaller than a cruiser.
-
was that how cain/lilith was supposed to look?

Tiny Lucifers.

Why, did you want it in BWO?
Inferno is using a Jotun the size of a cruiser. Galemp's Jotun is a much more reasonable size and AFAIK is currently not claimed by any campaign.

Oh, gotcha. I see now. :)
-
Nope not in BWO, I was thinking about something else.
Too hard to explain. Doesn't really matter anyway.
I'm grateful for the replies, at least now I know the status of it in the community for the most part.

Actually ours is less than 1/3 of the size of our version of the Lilith. 6 Jotuns is the aprox length of the Rakshasa. I wouldn't call that the size of a cruiser...
-
Hm, maybe I was thinking of the Notus.
How much size difference is there between the two Jotuns then?
-
Yeah the Notus is a lot bigger since it's twice the width of the Jotun and slightly longer.
I wouldn't know. I've never used that version of the Jotun.
-
About the same size as the Ursa, if I remember correctly, making it roughly half the size of the original Jotun.

IIRC, Woo's done a model based on this, too.
Like a giant segmented caterpillar cargo ship, if I remember his pics right.
-
No the Iksura wasn't based on that concept pic it was based on another.
My attempt at that particular concept pic didn't go well and so it was never shown to anyone.
-
Didn't galemp start doing that as a new shivan destroyer? i can remember someone startin that but it never got finished???? i would like to see that one put into Fs2
-
That looks like one took a Cain/Lilith class and ... emaciated it. Freaky design...
-
i like it, and would accept it as a replacement for cain/lilith, or even have that for cain and a heavier armored model for lilith, because having the same model for 2 ships kinda seems cheap to me
-
SHUSH!
You will ALL forget you ever saw that concept pic.
Consider the possibility that someone may have finished it for a campaign and may want to keep it a secret. :nervous: (http://web.njit.edu/~pjo3/bz.jpg)

What size do you plan on making it?
IMO it would be a great small destroyer/ very large corvette.

that seems rather selfish, to take that badass looking cool Cain/Lilith and steal it for your campaign, when it should be an enhancement of standard FS2 for everyone
