These are the first 12 missions to feature halfway through the B5 Heat Em Up Campaign (released summer 2006). During the Heat Em Up Campaign you will have the choice to go for Ranger Trianing given certain actions in prior missions. This may appear quite a hard campaign but remember its halfway through the Heat em up campaign, you should have completed 20 missions or so before you can start ranger training.

you should be free to move around at will.
Works fine on mine. Try re-installing, let me know if you cant get it sorted

Very cool. Just a few things I noticed.
The Dilgar mission. The EA did not have Midwinter class Cruisers. They came into being around the same time the Omega did, IIRC. Try replacing them with Novas, they were fairly commonplace in that time period.
And, also, with the Gorash mission, have you thought about adding a single battlecrab with a SlicerAAA? It'll allow it to fire at fighters, something which they are seen to do on the show. And, with the stealth enabled, the player won't be able to tell which one it is. As it was, I had no trouble with the Gorash mission...

Was thinking of putting novas in but wasn`t sure if they wher in that time period. They will be in the final Heat em up camp. Thanks for info.

Cheers Azrael, wondered why the crabs rarley attack fighters, and never new the AAAslicer would do that. Make some of my later missions a lot eaiser to do.

i have the same thing as manji, i cant fly or anything, also, when the first fighter jumps in, it's just going to do nothing. and some sounds work, when i hit the key for full thrust, i hear the engine the sound. but when i play in the mission simulator, i can fly around.

Now some questions...
1)Why are the ships in 6 training and first ranger mission untargetable?
Technical isues:
1)In the second training mission the disable directives are visible from the beginning and scan directive is shown as complete sice the beginning of mission...
2)in mission 1 I always fly the aurora although I didn't alter the mission in any way - it's like the 2 survivor mission...
No idea what's causing that... :confused:
I've extracted everything as told to do...
I have also your earlier missions and campaign installed...:eek2:
3)Please use starfield skybox it will make your great mission even more awesome ;)

Hi Apiz, the ships are untargetable to give fhe feel of a highly advanced race. In the Earth Minbari War, the Minbari ships where so advanced compared to earth it was very hard to aqquire target. I decided to opt for this in the campaign, as you go through the ranger missions they will be targetable as the Rangers learn how to combat their stealth ability.
On a couple of missions the directives don`t appear when they should (when an event is triggered). They start at the beginning, after spending some considerable time on it I decided to leave it as it was. "Like everything else, it the thought that counts"
In training mission 1 you should fly the Nial, not a clue what could be causing this.
Skyboxes, never used them yet, what are they and how do you use them?? Been fredding for years, but I don`t know everything (yet) One more question thats been buggin me, how do effectivley use a loading screen, tried making numerous folders to put them in, but still never works. Anyone know what the folder i need to name is inside the data/ folder??

I agree this can be true for Narns fightning shadows as Narns are only as advanced as humans in most aspects of their technology...
But the Rangers as such have always used Mimbari equipment which is at least 1000 years more advanced than human one...( to be honest I torture you with issue only because in hyperspace you are limited to 200m visual range and there is a high propability to not notice the main target, not to mention this hiders you from issuing ordres to wingmen and that centauri transport is even less advanced than your fighter - in many cases the Rangers would have the surprise effect)
Maybe it would be better just to limit the detection range to 1km or just set those ships to appear near the player?
Please tell what do you think about that issue?:)

I agree "Like everything else, it is the thought that counts", the issue with that is just that it makes the mission more easy...example in ranger training 2 you know from the beginning which ships are to be disabled

I keep seeing this over and aver again, and it's driving me slightly nuts. They are Minbari. Only one M in the name.

Just downloaded the missions, but had a question. What is a rar format? Can I use my WINZIP program to unzip the files? If not, where can I get a program (hopefully free) to open the files so I can add them to my computer?

There are many archivers which use various formats like Powerarchiver, currently I use IZArc and I'm happy with it.

All missions are very nicely done, the ranger 5 & 6 really gives the feeling of Shadow power :yes:
Can't wait for the whole campaign to be released!:ha:
Only in ranger mission 4 I wasn't able to locate the source of enemy transmissions (no targebable point) so I ended the mission without destroying the shadow fighters:confused:

Pretty much every arciver is capable of handling the most common formats...
Though sometimes you may encounter a file that requires that newest version of WinRAR, for example.

Well done Apiz. Ranger mission 4 - I made the shadow fighters and the nuke invisible to radar. This makes it harder as this is your main task in this mission. The shadow fighters and the nuke have to be taken out before the nuke gets too close to the outpost. If not then the outpost suffers considerable damage. If this occurs in mission 7 (NOT IN REFLECTIONS) you are to defend the station from a major attack with a damaged outpost making it even harder. Not long after the Minbari cruisers arrive at the outpost you respond to a distress signal and jump via the jumpgate.

what do you mean with re-install, the whole mod or just the reflections missions?

Just all the bitz fo the campaign. Have you installed tbp 3.2 over a freespace or previous tbp installation?? This may cause some probs!!

Ive testeds on 3 pcs ( all mine, ive installed tbp core 3.2 and thats it). Overwritten previous versions and freespace versions.
With 3.2 installed as a standard, works fine on all 3 installs. Please give any specifications of install.

I mean primaraly, fs2/ tbp install. I have installed 3.2 base and worked off that, if you have any previousley installed fs2 then mod or any other versions it may not work 100%.
When i last did a few missions on early version of fs2.tbp that many deifferent people had differnt installations that it seemed prudent for me to work with 1 version ( the latest 3.2, stand alone)
Works fine for me and many others. If you have probs starting this please let me know.

What i did is i put in the simulation and i play them one by one in order u just have to delete the refelction .fs2 and the mission will pop out individually is a rought solution but it works:D .
Anyways tks Mad for a great campaign i was wondering if you have in plans like a major war campaing were EA fight like the centari Or Earth is the Bad guy tring to expand its territory that will be neat .

Typing -allslev into the custom flags box in the launcher will have the same effect without having to delete anything :)

Well as it so happens, I was completing another mission for the Heat em up campaign last night, and low and behold I had another Idea. I was originally making the whole campaign open ended - meaning =what ever you do in a mission will affect which mission you do next and what you can do in that mission. The idea I had last night which ive decided to impliment is that if the babylon 5 station is destroyed in the year 2258 or 2259 then all hell breaks loose. As it would if this happened in the series. The Narn and Centauri are in all out war, teh Minbari swear revenge for the loss of Delen at B5 and the vorlons ane not very happy of the death of Kosh. So you are assigned to the EA galiath who is bolstering the lines of defence around its borders with the centauri, minbari and Narn. All hell soon breaks loose with many skirmishes with Narn and Centauri fleets, then the Minbari strike with a vengence in revenge. Then the vorlons enter the playground. Soon after the Shadows do, but by then there is not much left of the galaxy. If you survive these battles then you will finally end up back at earth in defence of the homeworld from Vorlom, shadow, minbari & centauri invasion fleets. ( and the Drakh of course. This should be fun - but survival will be extremley low, so it will be in your best interests to keep B5 alive and kicking.

There are holes in your plot.
1. Narns do not have resources to make war on multiple fronts, especially when the other front is against the Centauri.
2. The centauri lack the will of obliterating any other race than the narns, unless they are controlled by third party, eg. the drakh.
3. The Minbari are not stupid nor they are bloodthirsty. They would mourn over the death of Delenn and diplomatic relations would have severe drawback. But open hostility? I seriously doubt it.
4. The vorlons are not fools and destroy humans when they know the humans are important in defeating the shadows. And the vorlons do not have any time and resources to waste in a meaningless war, they need to prepare for the shadow war.
Then again, most people might consider such campaign fun anyways.

I know, but its a means to quick end. This will be a short 8 mission sub campaign which will soon come to an end. During the first season 2258 If Babylon 5 was destroyed the universe will very quickly go straight to hell as with Valen dead the shadows would wipe everybody out very quickly. So this is a good insentive to play through the campaign which would follow the main storyline. Instead of just restarting the mission because B5 is destroyed, wouldn it not be more fun .

to do something a bit different, a impossible thought missions of ea vs Vorlons etc.
As in most of the first season the Narns and Centauri would be the first at war with each having very little contact with each other. With loss on either side of a respected leader due to the loss of Babylon 5 (Mainly due to raiders which are mainly humans or narn/Centauri attacks) it would not be totaly un b5ish to think this as a possibilty that they would go to war and EA may be involved in some way. At the start of these missions you are sent to bolster the lines of defence around New London, Dakota, Epsilon with all the unstability due to all the losses of losing b5. The Minbari wuld be very unlikley to attack ea but again this is just a possibilty for a bit more fun. With the loss of delen, valen and the imminent shadow invasion of the galaxy would it not be prudent that they get a bit angry, see no hope for the future so the warrior cast (who does`t seem to like humans) might want a bit of revenge. The vorlons would`nt have enough time to prepare for the shadow war (as they will be a lot stronger and in more numbers really quickly due to the loss of Valen. People have rarley seen vorlons until b5 was created. With such a quick loss of ambassador kosh, not forgetting the vorlons don`t die often and after kosh first boarded b5 he was targeted for assination. With light of this and due the unstability of the galaxy this would make for more of a fun ending at the end of the destruction of b5 in the mission in 2258 in the campaign.
