I am afraid my intellect is not high enough to comprehend that, so that would probably be why The Onion is not set as my homepage.

I was about to snipe at you.. then i noticed "Location: Sweden".. it's a reference to politics blackdove

certain people want a "strict constructionalist interpretation" of the US Constitution - which really translates as "We don't like that the constitution wants us to treat everyone equal, keep religion out of government, and respect everyone's rights and privacy"

Well in theory it's the opposite. It means they want the Constiution followed, word for word. If the Consitution says you hang everyone with brown hair, then you bettter get up bright and early son, and make with the hanging.

But in practice it means they're pushing their agenda through using terminology which sounds innocent and appeals to Average Joe. The other side does it as well, except they say that the Constitution is a living, breathinc document which can and should be amended etc etc.

do you realy REALY think the Democrats care one iota more about you or me than they do about our vote and there power? do you realy think they are going to fix anything and kill there meal ticket?
both sides use BS cannons, if you aren't keenly aware of this you are already being used.

Bobboau: considering that they HAVE DONE SO IN THE PAST [and it cost them big - loosing the south when they supported the rights of blacks] I trust them FAR MORE than I trust republicans

Especially when I can go look up the facts and find that the democrats don't need to lie to support their positions: sometimes they exaggerate some - but they don't flat out lie and attempt to hide it.

furthermore their positions about the constitution are in 100% agreeance with the supplemental commentaries of the founding fathers about the purpose of certain positions.

Sure politicals ARE wankers, but some actually are out to stay in office through honestly trying to fulfill their campaign promises and uphold the ideals they espouse

Meh at the same time FDR didn't support civil rights despite the urging of groups due to the all-powerful White Southerner. (not wanting to risk defections and loss of constituentcy)

Even things as simple as anti-lynching rulings didn't pass.
