Title: Bebop in FS2?
Post by: Mongoose on September 05, 2005, 03:05:41 am
After finally seeing (and absolutely loving :D) the Cowboy Bebop movie last night on Adult Swim, a thought struck me:  has anyone ever modeled, or attempted to model, any of the ships from the series for FS2?  I've only seen about half the series, but I can see that there are some definite candidates for a model, especially considering the plethora of exterior shots available for said ships.  Things like Spike's fighter (whose name I can't recall at the moment :p), Faye's little ship, or even the Bebop itself would be very cool if done right.  Anyone willing to take a crack at it?

Spike's Swordfish is on Lancersreactor.com, I never sought permission for a conversion cause Even a mini-mod would not be feasible at this time. 3 ships for bounty hunters, not military based would be way out of character for them.  However you can convert it yourself with milkshake ($25.00) if you can;t find anyone to make it for you.

There's not much point into making those models.

You're not going to make any viable campaign out of it, or be able to play them constructively.

The ships you're talking about are called the Swordfish II and the Red Tail.

BTW I just checked, no pic posted but there is also a link for the Beebop there so now you just need Faye's ship...

Damn BD that was a little harsh. Maybe he justs wants to play with them himself (like I do with Bucik Rogers or Ragnarok) no real mod needed.

Venom/Nico built the Swordfish II for Freespace, I think.

Huh?

With the Cowboy Bebop universe it is not possible to make anything story-related to it by any stretch of the imagination in the FS engine, unless you went the ways of the Starfox mod, but then again, having a second project of that magnitude dedicated to Bebop is sketchy at best.

Was just stating that as fact, it should be known to everyone who's seen it really.

I know it wouldn't be possible to make any sort of viable campaign; I was just really asking for the hell of it.  Kind of along the lines of that old, "Which ships would you like to see in FS2?" thread.  (If I remember, the Planet Express delivery ship was one of those. :p)  Sorry if I ruffled anyone's feathers.

Edit: That Lancers Reactor site has some pretty wild stuff on it, everything from the Delorean from BTTF to Homer Simpson. :p That's kind of what I was thinking.  You're right in saying that models like these wouldn't be much use for a campaign, but it'd still be fun to cruise around in them.

You do know what is the most spoiled anime ending in the entire Internet Interverse, right?

Yes, I'm well aware of it.  I've actually seen just the first five or six and the last four or five episodes of the series, a result of catching it at random times on Adult Swim.  They're showing it now on weeknights, but seeing as how I managed to...um...acquire...the whole series, I'm planning to watch it straight through at some time in the future.

Edit:  I'm assuming you're asking if I've seen the ending of Bebop, not asking which show has the most spoiled ending.
