Title: To fan the flames a bit...
Post by: Unknown Target on September 05, 2005, 02:20:14 pm
Read.

http://www.reandev.com/taliban/

And by our close friend, GWB:

Quote

"I don't think that witchcraft is a religion. I wish the military would rethink this decision."*

"God told me to strike at al Qaida and I struck them, and then he instructed me to strike at Saddam, which I did, and now I am determined to solve the problem in the Middle East. If you help me I will act, and if not, the elections will come and I will have to focus on them."

"Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists."

"This crusade, this war on terrorism is going to take a while."

*Comment about Wiccans in the military

The one in that I'm pissed about:

How... frightening. Honestly, that these people could be in any position of power... and to think that that implies people put them in power.. :doubt:

These people frighten me ...seriously.

Such ****s trying to gain political power (and actually gaining it), would be one of the few reasons for me to start a guerilla war in my country.

EDIT: wtf, t_w_a_t is censored ?!? That made my post look like I used a really dirty word.

If the media has no power why are the republicans always banging on about liberal media bias then?

Heck I'm scared of those people too and I don't even live in the US..

What surprises me the most, is the fact that most of those statements stands in direct contradiction to what they as christians are supposed to stand for, according to their holy book.

I don't know wether to laugh or cry after reading through all that.

I'm just waiting until they start to abuse citizens. Then the time will be ripe for uprising (and I'm being half-serious here).

"AIDS is the wrath of a just God against homosexuals. To oppose it would be like an Israelite jumping in the Red Sea to save one of Pharoah's chariotters."

But is strangely similar to several stories of Jesus healing the sick, and not once did he ask them their sexual orientation.

You know, maybe the world would be a better place if there was a story like that in the Bible ;)

I kinda like how the Constitution basically says that it's the citizens' duty to overthrow the government should it ever become tyrannical. Hmmm... American Revolution Mk2 now that might be a war worth fighting in. :drevil:

This one makes me giggle. Personally, I don't think witchcraft is a religion, but what I think--or what Mssr. Bush thinks--doesn't really matter. All it boils down to, in terms of the military--is that we get Wiccan chaplains (yeah, there's gonna be a lineup, right?) and there's another option to pick from on the form for getting your dog-tags issued. He's a nimrod.

Which one? The one where he questions other people's religions? The one about the invsible man in the sky telling him to kill people? The one where he says there's only two kinds of people in the world? Or maybe the one where he says attacking the Middle East is a holy war?

I have no problems with blowing up ****heads that want to harm our people. I do have a problem with the highest elected official in the US making decisions based on superstitious mythological beliefs, in other words, IGNORING SEPERATION OF CHURCH AND STATE. Good ****ing grief.

At KappaWing: please, do it. I really don't want to live long enough to see how the US will fall.

those terrorists weren't Al Queda, realy don't be intentionaly dence, it's a very simple concept, she consiters Al Queda the only major terrorist threat at the moment, so when she says the terrorist, it's synonumus with Al Queda, as erronius as that may be.

"All" is a pretty inclusive word. It does not allow the possibility of exceptions. "Most" is the word you're thinking of.

Quote

"If you commit a crime, you're guilty."

Of course, this really depends on who you are. If you're a multinational oil corporation, you "made a mistake". If you're the head of asuperpower, "you're defending freedom".

Quote

Civilized people – Muslims, Christians, and Jews – all understand that the source of freedom and human dignity is the Creator."

Strangely enough Hindus and Buddhists consider themselves to be civilised. And besides, I'm civilised and I don't believe for one moment that that "freedom and human dignity" comes from a "Creator". It comes from me, my family, my friends, my country and my species. It comes from each and every one of us, regardless of our spiritual beliefs.

Quote

"Today's children... They're damned. They're gone."

I'm sure my 14yo cousin is glad to know she's going to Hell, as is those adorable twin children of one of my clients. FIRE AND BRIMSTONE FOR THE BABES! Um. Yeah. okay.

That was from James Watt. He, and most other "christians" seem incapable of understanding the fact that is supposed to be their sacred duty to protect the environment. We are supposed to be the guardians of the Earth. It just shows how corrupted Christianity really is.

Quote
"The feminist agenda is not about equal rights for women. It is about a socialist, anti-family political movement that encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism, and become lesbians."

That was from Pat Robertson.

I find it incredibly sad that so many people in America actually believe all this garbage.

Actually it just shows how lunatic your religious right-wing is. They're pretty insane in western world standards - even though there are complete drooling mongoloids in most other countries as well, they're nowhere as visible as US religious freaks. Elsewhere the Christians are usually pretty lax and cool with da man keeping da brotha down! or something.

Simple racism and, more importantly, complete nonsense.  Seeking to provide a pretext for bigotry against Muslims, whilst trying to escape criticism with the watery former part.

I believe that one was highlighted as being hypocritical; the speaker  is Rush Limbaugh, who confessed to being addicted to painkillers - after previously calling for drug addicts to be locked up.

More bigotry.  Defines 'civillization' as being caused by religion, inherently regards other religions or aetheism as uncivillized; removes any individual responsibility towards freedom and human dignity and instead requires blind obidience.

Again, complete bollocks.  Human freedom and dignity comes from human inaction, not the inaction of some suppossed supreme diety and a crusty old text.

Bigoted (again!) bias against anyone who shares a different religious - or aetheistic - perspective.  That's not just non Christians, but anyone who has a different view of christianity to the quoted.  Not to mention it's an excuse for treating all children like **** - 'they're gone', not worth the effort or caring for, safe to regard as human garbage.

If you look at it... if people believe 1, they'll treat all Muslims as prospective terrorists - so it's justifying racism.  For 2, it's a hypocritical simplification which ignores the simple fact of having a need to prove guilt... it's almost an implicit justification for assuming guilt (although it's main purpose in the page is because it's hypocritical).  For 3 & 4, it's an excuse to push personal moral values onto people - anyone - who disagrees, without any valid cause; that destroys tolerance and equality if followed as a rule.
