European based gaming company Titus Interactive has announced that it has taken control of Interplay, a popular United States based publisher. Titus has owned a sizeable chunk of Interplay's stock for quite a while but has now made the leap to 51% by exchanging 336,070 convertible bonds into 6.68 million Interplay shares, taking its holding to 27.09 million shares. "This purchase raises Titus Interactive's voting rights and will enable, during the Annual General Meeting in September, a re-election of the board and a takeover of Interplay by Titus Interactive" Titus has stated. Interplay now joins Hasbro Interactive, Mattel Interactive, GT Interactive, Sierra, Interactive Magic, Accolade and a host of other American publishers to have been taken over by a European company.

Interplay gots the rights for everything concerning FS.

What's their last famous product? I can remember that 10 years ago they were amongst the bests, but now?

Nah, hopefully there might be an FS3 in the future then... if this Titus company (or the interplay replacements) does it's research and look at which games still have enough interest to warrant a sequel, this would be a prime target (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)

I think you're all dreaming. Titus is a company like the others. Plus they've bought Interplay, ok, but what tells you they'll interfere with Interplay's current and future projects?

when a company gets taken over, the company that did the take over usually goes over the company with a fine tooth comb and sells off assets it deems unnecessary etc...
