So True

Wow. For a moment there I actually thought you might have started a non-political thread. Silly me.
-
1 - Ze caption, I cannot see eet! (But I guess it's the Sky News one?)
2 - Sandwich, after the amount of people I had to grin and smile at last night at my mate's engagement party (which really thinking "WTF?"), you can tolerate Kazan for all of two threads.
-
Somebody will be getting sacked* for that one- and getting bought a round of drinks.
*Sky News is, of course, owned by a certain Mr Murdoch. Unlike FOX, it's legally bound to portray an unbiased viewpoint under UK licensing law.

Dude, way to kill the mood.

The "mood" has been overdone, for quite sometime now. The never ending amount of these threads is just rediculous.
-
Doesn't bother me, besides, just anyone on this board if they saw their leader with 'Biggest Disaster to Hit this country' labelled under them, would probably have a good laugh at it ;)

Actually, I agree; there have been far too many amusingly unfortunate word-plays on this board in recent days!
DAMN YOU ANTI-SLAPSTICK DEMMYCRAT EURO-PEONS!
-
yes sandwich because this is soo political that if TV news agency at done it to clinton, or kerry i would have bene laughing too
-
oh, comeone, it's funny, not even political funny, even if you like Bush you got to admit it's funny.
-
Exactly. This is exactly the sort of thing I was on about in the NO relief topic. Someone posts a picture of George Bush and someone else completely over reacts to it.
And it's not even just the caption itself. The fact that it says Sky News Flash/Breaking News right next to it just improves the joke :)
-
I'm most impressed by the reflexes of the person that took that picture :D
-
you know, I was just thinking the same thing, weird.
-
hilarious... lighten up guy.

Or with TiVo you could just rewind to it and then take a picture. Reflexes are not necessary in this day and age.

:D I would be but if they're like News 24 they cycle the caption giving the person plenty of time to grab the camera before it came around again :)
The shots not a screencap DC or we'd have all the text :D

What's TiVo?
(If it's what I think it is, they went pretty much bankrupt over here 4 or 5 years ago and stopped making them)
-
well it's sky so it was probably repeated about 50 bloody times.
-
If Kazan had left out the "so true," I'd be laughing just as much as any of you over what is admittedly a very funny headline. As it is, I'll try my best to overlook the political element. :p
-
well if your haveing trouble laughing at it thnk of it like a 'liberal media bias' joke
-
Class.

Hehe, point taken :p

[color=66ff00]This is an obvious attempt to undermine the current administration.
Damn you Kazan!

Apart from the political bias, this is actually very good... :D :D

So speaks Maeglamor, Yub Yub Minister of His Holiness the Provost General President Crusader George Walker Bush. Heir of the Throne of 20 years, Protector of the Holy Spirit (Blessed Be His Name) Ronald Reagan, and Paramor of the Outer Territories of the Tartaran Wastes of Carceri, as well as Prior of the Ori.

Nah we discovered that light and promptly decided to change the bulb.

We decided to save our money, set the video, and nip down the pub.

Oh, don't get me wrong. It's not the Bush-bashing. It's the political threads (isn't it funny how my use of the phrase "political threads" made you think "Bush bashing"?). Over the past three months, you've started 14 threads in HL, eight (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,35062.0.html) threads (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,35052.0.html) of (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,34926.0.html) which (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,34875.0.html) have (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,34744.0.html) been (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,34592.0.html) overtly (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,34405.0.html) political (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,34463.0.html).
Not to mention how fully half (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,34526.0.html) of the remainder (3 of 6) (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,34492.0.html) were religious threads (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,34463.0.html)....
-
Hehe. Hard evidence can hurt.
-
And oddly, all were focused on issues that you'd be against him Sandwich. C'mon now.
-
I haven't really cared, myself. I just didn't read them.

Oh, so does that mean that those threads are any less political, because I disagree with him? It doesn't matter one itoa. Kazan and I have wonderful IM debates about such things - far more civilized than what most of these threads degenerate into on HLP. We have differing political opinions about many things, but we pretty much exemplify the "agree to disagree" mantra.
No, the fact that I (supposedly) disagree with all those threads (the German politics thread didn't even interest me one way or another, so how could I disagree with it?) means absolutely nothing. I searched for the threads Kazan has posted in the past 3 months, looked through them all, and saw that 8 of them were political, and 3 religious.
Kaz, I know how much these things bother you, which is why you post them. And there's nothing wrong with that at the core of things. It's simply the frequency of these threads, combined with the fact that they're the most flammable kind of thread on a message board (being political/religious) makes them not the most welcome thread to see.
-
Well I thought it was damn funny. Nice spot Kaz.
