i got a problen with my hosting.. i tried to contact their "customer  support" but they are too slow or dont  respond at all
anyways the problem is that whenever i upload somthin... it doesnt show up on the internet browser...

I know this box of theirs  runs  UNIX so i know i have to put my files  in the www dir or the root  dir right?

but nothing happens...

any ideas folks?

There should be a public_html or htmlfiles directory where you should upload those files to.

www is a domain prefix like any other, hence the folder.

ok another question... how do you add \ change the permission of a  folder  so that the "GID" is active inthe folder?
i tried to check mark it in the  FTP Client use which is "Smart-FTP"
but it says "mode value  must between 255 and 777"
not like 2577 like i want

any ideas folks?
