Title: Setting the Vasudan Main Hall
Post by: Fractux on September 13, 2005, 09:39:39 pm
Hey, I was just wondering if any FREDER can help me out here with FRED2OPEN

When setting up the main hall in a .fc2 file, there's the option

+Main Hall: 0 , which is the Bastion.

Now, I was under the impression that if this was changed to

+Main Hall: 1 , that you would see the Vasudan Main Hall when you returned from the campain screen to the main hall.

Is there a setting I'm not seeing here?? Or can anyone else check this to see if there is a problem.

Cheers!

Just checked the table file and the FS2 main campaign file. Mainhall 1 is the Vasudan Main hall.

However I don't see +Main Hall: anywhere in the official campaign. Instead I see this

-----------------------------
$Mission: SM2-07.fs2
+Flags: 1
----------------------------

For the Vasudan Mainhall and

----------------------------
+Flags: 0
----------------------------

For the terran one. Either change the flag numbers or do it via the campaign editor in FRED.

Hey Karajorma,

Yeah, I had checked that last night as well when I was trying to figure out why it was not working.

The +Main Hall is only in fc2 files generated with FRED2_OPEN. I'm using fred2_open_T-20050630, as it's the only build I've gotten to work with WINE in linux.

I tried changing the +Flags: entry as well last night, with no effect. I still get the default fs2 main hall in my builds from August -> Sep.

Are you able to get the main hall to switch?

If not, I'll mantis this.

I'd suggest leaving the mainhall value at whatever it was orginally and simply altering the flags value. I'm not certain if you're saying you've tried that.

I had tried changing the +Flags last night, and it had no effect either.

That's why I was asking around before I chalked it up as a possible bug, just in case I missed something.
