Title: Can anyone help me (3D Studio Max texturing), + Fighter model pic

I posted this question at the VBB, but since the specialists also hang out here, I figured this might be the best place to ask.

I have a large ship (destroyer) modeled as one object. And fitting the first Material/bitmap, using Unwrap UVW,  to the center sides of the ship went fine.

But I can't figure out how to assign a different material/bitmap to other faces without also changing material/bitmap on the faces that are done in the first material/bitmap.

If you know what to do please take time to try explaining this.

I've spent hours searching and reading through the help features in Max, but to no awail.  The tutorial only explains the use of Unwrap UVW with one material on the model/object.

Can't get the image to show. The url seems to be ok....

I hope to use this combination (atmospheri-/space-) fighter in both FS2 and RF.  But have to se how modding RF will be.

Ah, easy.  Simply make it an editable mesh and make sure you're on select polyons.  Ctrl-click to select the desired polys.  Easy as something really easy.  (this is all in the right-click menu, btw)

Can you show us the model? Or maybe at least ZIP it up or put it on another server?
