What do I need to insert my ship from Soft Image XSI to FS2?

Basically you need to be able to get the model into either Truespace.cob format or own a copy of 3DS Max and have the plugin from the stickied thread on this forum.
There's a copy of 3D Exploration available in the downloads section of my FAQ that may help you depending on which formats XSI can export.

When i use the 3D explorations program, it gives me the "Invalid Pointer" Error. What does this mean?

That means a rather serious problem with the program. Try Lithunwrap from the modding section. That does a fairly reasonable job as a converter too.

XSI can export obj files that can be read by truespace IIRC.
