Post by: Krackers87 on September 30, 2005, 07:42:34 pm
So, im runnin low on money, and the news is im being kicked out of my house 5 days after my next birthday (Nov 25) so ive decided i have to sell my pc in the local paper and would like some info on what a good price would be.

Some basic info on it ::

21" CRT Monitor, great working condition.

P4 2.6 GHZ w/ Intel Desktop Board D865GBF

Nvidia GeForce 6800 Ultra 256mb
2gigs Ram (think its DDR, will check)
Soundblaster Live! 4.1 Card
40 Gig Hard Drvie

1 Plextor 52x CD-RW
1 Generic 52c CD Drive
X-Factor case i believe, internal LEDs, See-Thru side panel Front panel that goes over the cd rom drives has broken off.
400watt or volts or whatever, See-Thru power suply with internal blue LEDs

I'll add some more details later, but for now Im think around $1,850

Any ideas?

Sorry to hear about you getting kicked out, but the price seems about right.  Most places thats about a month's expenses.

yeah, that price is far too high; around $1000 will net you a brand new system like that depending on what monitor it is, so you want to go lower for a used one. Check on ebay to get an idea of what the current value of your stuff is.

no, ebay if ridiculously low on things like this.

Sell it for the retail value of the components.  That VC alone still sells for over $400.

Which is about what you will get at ebay. The 6800U is out of production though, so its retail prices are very inflated these days.

it's hard to find a GOOD (<-- keyword) 6800Ultra for $320 though.

nonetheless, i think 1.8k is a bit too high :-/

Well, i'll have to try for 1.2k at the least, hopefuly someone out there will want it.

If anyone is intrested in that kind of stuff, i'll likely be selling my Warhammer 40k things and if you want i can notify whoevers intrested on what/when i list the stuff on ebay (my computers going in the paper)
