That said, from an artisitic point of view, I'll agree it's a bit square, looks sort of like an RPG 'select your character' screen, but nice images anyway :)

And anyway, I agree - no sig images means more post, less pictures. It's annoying to sit through 40 different sigs telling about how cool, deadly, or assassin like a person is.

They do help in identifying posters at a quick glance while scrolling through a page. All the other forums I've seen either allow custom ones or have a large list of predefined ones to choose from. (well, except for the VBB, but that was years ago)
