Title: Updated Version of VPVIEW
Post by: QXMX on August 24, 2001, 06:58:00 pm
What's the most current version of VPView.  The one that I have won't let me listen to the wav files in either Summoner or Red Faction or extract them correctly.  I've searched all over HLP and VW but I couldn't find them.

Thanx  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

That's the one that I have.  It still won't let me listen to the wav's.  It says "unsupported data format"  unless Windows Media Player doesn't support wav files, then they're being corrupted during extraction?

I'm not sure what the problem is, but I use V1.3 ("http://www.descent-network.com/cgi-bin/descman.cgi?module=vpview") for most stuff. I know there is some incomplete stuff in V2.0, but I'm not sure - the two can co-exist, so you have nothing to lose.  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

v2 has trouble with RF files. V1 works better.

Yeh, V1.3. If you read about it, you'll find that this version is complete and stable - there are lots of features in V2.0 which aren't fix0red up yet, which is why it is still in beta.

I'm still using the 1.21 version. Works for me so I see no reason to upgrade. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

And the point of that was..? Oh wait - there was no point...  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/tongue.gif)

I've never had any stability problems with VPView at all, ever. It is kind of slow on start up, taking maybe twenty seconds to open up, but I don't mind (especially seeing as the VP files we're dealing with are huge).  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

Wrong again AWACs boy! To some people Beta means buggy and likely to crash every other minute, so I was just setting the record straight for people who don't know  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

H4w!

Double click on the wave files and they will play.  I had the same problem.
